Its midnight to midnight to whatever your xbox time is set 2 ?

This is what probably happened my guess:

you played overnight like midnight to like 4 am -5am ( earned 43K) went to sleep woke up at noon and hit cap withing 2 hours at 17K

It said credit limit reached but I only earned 17,000 credits before I got the message... I wish you all at Bungie would make it a little more clear about how many credits you can earn in a day, because I thought it was 60,000... This is not the first time this has happened to me and it's very irritating...

wrong !

credit limit day start is not the same as challenge start

credit limit day start( midnight at your time zone - so different time zones have different starts )
challenge start ( same for every1 in the world )

its midnight to midnight ur xbox time

It's only 2:54pm here. I've played for an hour and a half and I'm credit capped?! I don't see how that's possible. Would I still receive credits for the daily challenges that I complete? Does playing still go towards ranking up?
These may have already been addressed but I missed them if they have.
I'm still not sure how this happened since I've never hit cap and I've only been playing for the last hour and a half.

  • 12.03.2010 2:57 PM PDT

I only earned 30k credits today and It gave me the cap, that's it. Seriously this is ridiculous, this stupid cap has to be lifted. I never boosted or cheated, I was planning on getting general today and then that cap message came up, I don't even know why I bother with these stupid FPS's anymore.

Is this punishment for loyal, devoted players who want to earn credits? It sure seems that way. I want you guys at Bungie to know that I, along with many others, have lost the desire to play after finding out that we're getting zero credits per game. Credits give people something to aspire to, which complements the joy of simply playing for fun. The problem is that those credits are half the reason I play matchmaking, and if there's a daily cap, some will simply lose the desire to play. I understand that you're trying to prevent idle players or bots from earning credits they don't deserve, but is that reason enough to piss off thousands of devoted players? There are better ways to do this: 1) lower the allowed idle time before someone is returned to the lobby, 2) don't include credits from challenges as part of the daily cap, or 3) completely do away with the daily cap system. As mentioned before, it's not like it's real money. I'm sure more people would prefer having a few cheaters out there than not being able to earn credits simply because they're too devoted or too good. You guys at Bungie know as well as I do that earning credits to progress through the matchmaking hierarchy is a major factor in keeping players regularly devoted to the online halo experience. I hope you'll take my suggestions into consideration.

  • 12.03.2010 10:31 PM PDT

i dont think so....
i started at 1:00pm ended about aprox 2:00am and reach the limit level around 60,000 because i had 102,000 finish about 162,000
i was so addicted that only sleep 2 hours around 4am i was able to play again and make some more credits
around 4am is also the time were i see the challenges in halo reach .... guessing the cr limit starts again at 4am

  • 12.03.2010 11:17 PM PDT

Thanks for clearing that up... Now it makes sense, midnight to midnight...

  • 12.04.2010 4:27 AM PDT

Until the challenges reset, which counts as the day starting/ending.

wrong. It APPEARS (i've only hit it once and am basing it off that experence and ohter posts in this thread) it resets 12pm CST. I play mostly after that and I hit it shortly after the challenges reset in the morning.

Dear Bungie,

I just thought that you would be interested in knowing that, for x-mas this year, I will be asking for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Why you ask? Well it's because of all the restrictions you seem to have put on a service that I paid for. My anger actually began when the Noble Map Pack was released and the "recommended" maps prevented me from playing every single playlist except for 1 because I didn't have the "recommended" maps. Shouldn't the game have read - 1 or more players do not have the MANDATORY maps downloaded? So needless to say, I boycotted downloading the new maps to express my displeasure and actually reverted back to Halo 3 for a few days. Needless to say, I encountered some withdrawals from Halo Reach and decided to just suck it up and download the new maps.

So here I am on hangover Sunday - the gf has all her friends over for some Epicure party??? Taking full advantage of this, I head to the mens den to get in a good couple hours of Reach. Now the part of Reach I enjoy the most is competing with my friends on accomplishing daily / weekly challenges while playing my favorite playlist. I complete a few daily challenges, head out to hockey, come back and attempt to finish off the daily challenges. In doing so, I encounter this credit cap you seem to have in place?

My question for you, Bungie, is why do you feel it's necessary to restrict my ability to play this game legitimately? Surely, there are other ways than having this BS credit cap in place. You see, I have zero interest in sitting and credit farming as it gets REAL tiresome REAL quickly...I actually give props to those who can sit there for hours on end and do nothing but farm credits in the exact same mission, using the exact same method over and over and over again and find it amusing.

But for me, my amusement comes from actually playing the game to earn credits in which I use to purchase armor and effects, which need I remind you, have NO effect on my game play. Please consider removing this credit cap, atleast for matchmaking, or put into effect something that actually punishes boosters / farmers and not those who just want to support your game legitimately. I hope to see some changes made, judging by the amount of displeasure from those who support you, or I will certainly think twice about supporting your products.

Good Jo Bungie Now get rid of it.
i earn 1500/2000 cr a game

  • 12.06.2010 9:21 AM PDT

Ditto. And at this 1500/2000 credit per game pace, you can play give or take 30 games. 30 games takes what amount of time? 4 hours? Thanks Bungie....

  • 12.06.2010 11:06 AM PDT

you could only get 60k credits per day lol

  • 12.06.2010 11:35 AM PDT

I think that they should remove the credit limit reached thing because i reach the credit limit like everyday cause im a beast lol

Actually, if you had decided to even try pressing the search button, you would've found out that they really are 'Recommended' and that you could play any playlist you want except for the DLC Playlist.

So here I am on hangover Sunday - the gf has all her friends over for some Epicure party??? Taking full advantage of this, I head to the mens den to get in a good couple hours of Reach. They are doing nothing to prevent you from playing the game, you just simply cannot recieve any more credits, for the rest of the day. Just wait until tommorrow, it won't be that long, you don't have to do all of the daily challenges.

EDIT: Hmm... that's very surprising that you think Credit Farming would get 'REAL tiresome' with an Onyx Commendation in 'Splash Damage'.

But for me, my amusement comes from actually playing the game to earn credits in which I use to purchase armor and effects, which need I remind you, have NO effect on my game play. I personally have yet to hit the credit cap once, but that's your decision on whether you support them or not.

Having certain armor affect the gameplay, in my opinion would would make the game less enjoyable, and unbalanced. You would probably see the majority of players wearing the same armor set as that may have the best combined ability. Trust me, if they implemented that in the game, Armor Lock would be that last thing the people on the forums would be complaining about.

Had the 'Search' button actually been highlighted, I would've been able to begin searching. However, when that's not the case it is kind of difficult to do so.

Where in my post did I ever deny the fact that I attempted the splash damage / walking tank boosting? I simply stated that it gets real tiresome really quickly because I've been there, done that. I know from experience how boring it becomes so, therefore, I'm entitled to express my opinion on it.

This is what actually got to me - the fact that I could spend time boosting certain commendations and not be affected by the cap. Yet, when I actually play the game legitimately, I hit the cap. Karma? Perhaps. But what is the cap really preventing then?

Sure, maybe Bungie actually isn't doing anything that prevents me from playing the game, but in my opinion a large portion of the games purpose is earning cR and becoming a higher rank. What is the point in playing something with no purpose? Maybe you play the game for the purpose of killing and don't care about the cR. My friends and I, however, enjoy the cR and the armoury system.

Serious question here, but could you explain how the armour benefits game play? i was under the impression everything is simply cosmetic? Perhaps my opinion on the cap would change if it actually is true that the armour can benefit you.

From what I've heard, some forum-goers did complain about how they couldn't play the playlists, but others responded saying that it was possible to play without them, and they were able to play.

Ok, I will say this, you never actually did say that you didn't farm, but you implied that you hadn't by saying "I actually give props to those who can sit there for hours on end and do nothing but farm credits in the exact same mission, using the exact same method over and over and over again" making my assume that you weren't guilty of it your self.

I never said I didn't enjoy the Armor System, I just simply stated, that you shouldn't just play the game for in-game aesthetics. If you've every played games such as CoD 2 then you might understand more.

Lastly, I also never said that Armor actually benefitted from gameplay, just that it might suffer more of armor permutations were more than just aesthetics.

P.S. In all seriousness, what was the link to the other thread suppose to tell me?

  • 12.06.2010 12:37 PM PDT

I was just under the impression that you had implied that as you rank up and have more available armour options, that this armour would actually benefit you (ie. more resistance to ammo). I just decided to search the forums to see what was being said about it. If you had honestly thought that armour made you better (which we have now determined you didn't and it was just my misunderstanding), I was simply posting the link more so as an FYI. Obviously it can be disregarded.
