ok first of all bungie/343 probably wrote a program that detects every time you get credits on a daily bases, if you get too many credits and the program detects it and prevents you from getting anymore until the daily challenges are reset.
one solution you could do is go to local and maybe you can get credits that way (which could be worth while doing if you very, very close to ranking up)
just my best guest but it's obvious.
hope it helps

Challenges have nothing to do with getting credits after reaching the limit

well i think people that get A LOT of Cr should look over there games and see what there doing or how there getting so much Cr so people who DONT cheat can still get Cr because its not fair for people who spend time earning those cant keep getting those Cr and bungie has bin down its keep going off and on and i try to log on to see whats new but a lot of times it keeps saying its under maintenance and i wanted to know why bungie is keep going off and on like this it was never like this before

I'm guessing that it would be for a day. They probably have a limit for the amount of credits you can get in a day to prevent grinders for completely ranking up in Gruntpocalypse in a day or two.

That hapened to a few of my friends.

  • 08.11.2011 1:55 PM PDT

well he is right in some ways so there are reasons why they put the credit lock on

  • 08.24.2011 10:53 AM PDT

i completed the same weekly 3 times in 1 day and it said credit limit reached

  • 09.01.2011 9:56 AM PDT

I've never got close to a credit cap. I play like 10 matches every 2 weeks lol

  • 09.01.2011 9:59 AM PDT

For all of those wondering, the daily credit limit as of 18/10/2011 is 120,000 cR. I know this because when I began playing today, I worked my rank up to ~440k. I am now at ~560k and also completed the weekly

Bungie bungie bunge....... how dumb can u get? let players level up at their pace. why deny them cR? if they go play 24/7 let them. who cares for rank? rank =/= skill. bungie again: you made this game bad on purpose.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

We've seen other systems come and go where rampant abuse of progression systems has devalued the online ecosystem and the Online Credit Limit is just one of many countermeasures against these activities.

I still don't understand how you can devalue an already meaningless progression system.

Oh no, he/she can put a ghostly skull faceplate on their e-Barbie before me. Drat.

If it were reflective of skill, then sure, I could understand why a cap was implemented, but for a progression system that only advances meaningless aesthetics? If anything, the system discourages people from playing after they hit the cap.

For the record, I have yet to hit the cap. Even so, I fail to see the logic behind the implementation of such measures. I fail to see the logic behind many implementation choices that were made into this game, but that's a whole 'nother subject.

There are people who are going to grind for cR. I say let them. I think the only people who actually care about people reaching valueless milestones like this before them are the superficial kiddies who aren't even of adequate age to even be playing this game in the first place.

There seem to have been an awful lot of unnecessary restrictions put into this game.

Note: I do play Halo, you just need to search for MJGAMER12 on the Halo: Reach/Halo 3 Gamertag thing.

Note for utter noobs: 120,000 cR is the cap. Now STFU about it.

BETRAYER

i THINK ITS CRAZY TO PUT A CAP. I TRY MY BEST TO GET ALL THE
DAILY CHALLENGES AND WEEKLY CHALLENGES THAT i CAN BUT BUNGIE IS CAPPING ME BECAUSE IM PLAYING HARD TO ACHIEVE WHAT THEY PUT OUT THERE FOR THE DAY OR WEEK. THAT IS LAME WHAT IS THE SENSE OF PLAYING IF YOU CANT ACHIEVE YOUR RANK FAIRLY. I UNDERSTAND CHEATS BUT COME ON COMPLETING SOMETHING THEY THROW OUT FOR YOU TO ACHIEVE AND THEN WHEN YOU ACHIEVE IT THEY PENTALIZE YOU. LAME. BUNGIE NEEDS TO GET REAL AND STOP SCREWING AROUND, DONT PUT THE CHALLENGES OUT THERE IF YOU DONT WANT HARD PLAYERS TO ACHIEVE IT.
