Halo 2 for Life!

Talking to someone that hasn't seen or done what I've done in H2 is like talking to a brick wall. lol.

You have to experience it to understand how cool H2 was.

The level at which you experienced it was not the same level I did, clearly by your putting down of H2 without cause.

Its easy to see fault from the surface but until you get down into it for a extended period of time you dont know how great something is. H2 was great, H3 wasn't for me and for many others (reach was beyond flawed and I refuse to waste time and money on it).

Fun is interactions and H2 was the most interactive between people (relistic and smooth movements, talking etc), you couldn't mute, and people were free to come and go as they please without major penalty (like sitting out for 10min). It was just a combination of factors that was the greatness called H2. lol.

If you don't know how to use it, everything seems broken. Hreach is a mindless game of killing; H2 was a game of teamwork and communication. BTB for H2 was like no other MP experience ever and it's a shame you never were able to experience it correctly (going off your H2 is broke comment).

H2 was a mindless game of killing if you wanted it to be but it had that second level of great game play if you were to venture off to BTB and the gameplay could handle the ways we were using it.

Hreach cant handle BTB interactions, the communication that is needed, the smoothness of the game that is needed, the balance of gameplay that is need, the movements speeds and vehicle speeds that are needed, etc. H2 for life.

I've been playing since Halo CE came out, trust me I spent plenty of time with Halo 2, aside from the introduction matchmaking for the series, Halo 2 was pretty much a step backwards in every regard compared to Halo 1. Just because I don't think that Halo 2 is the greatest game ever made doesn't mean I haven't played any of them besides H3 and Reach, it means I don't like Halo 2 based on all the games I've played of it, on and off of xbox live, by myself or with friends, split-screened or system linked.

I agree about the speed of Halo 2 being just right, not so much about the movements being 'relistic' but they were certainly smoother than Halo 3 and Reach's default movement speeds.

And the ability to not mute people screaming over mic with no goal other than to piss people off, or that people can quit out of games they don't want to play and leave that team playing man down makes the game better? lol

FOR CHRISTS SAKE

  • 12.16.2010 1:33 PM PDT

hmmmmm considering reach is utter and complete -blam!-. and halo 2 being the best in the series imo... idk this is a hard one for me.

All it took was a stew of whoopass.

Halo 2 lasted longer, and I played it offline for the majority of the time.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Biased poll is biased. Make it in another section of the forum, and expect different results.

Halo 2 for Life!

All polls are bias!

It's more likely to get attention and stay high on the first page in this forum than others that is why it's being done here.

In the Hreach forum it's buried in about 1 second.

Even if the poll is bias; it still is saying a lot.

Halo 2.

Halo 2 by far is the ultimate Halo.

After H2 it went down hill and I become a CoD fan lol.
Even then Cods -blam!- boring now.

Halo 2 for Life!

I played COD for a bit but online it was bad... just like H3 and Hreach.

H2 was the best online and no FPS has matched it(not even counter-strike).

Halo 2 for Life!

Halo CE had a very good campaign but it's multi-player wasn't that great...

H2 had a very good multi-player.

The Halo 1 vs Halo 2 battle is a lot closer than the Reach vs Halo 2 one.

FFAs in Reach are terrible. The kill times are so long that going on any sort of run is nearly impossible. Hiding around a corner and cleaning up kills is not only the fastest way to get kills, its the ideal strategy. The FFAs (MLG FFAs) in Halo 2 were the best I have played in any game ever. The pace of the game, melee system, kill times and map selection (Middy. Always Middy.)created the best FFA experience. I've played a good number of Halo 1 FFAs as well, but Halo 2s always had a more competitive edge for me.

In 4v4, Halo 2 beats Reach again. The combination of teamwork AND individual skill was much nicer than reach's. Halo 2 also wins on Map selection. All of Reach's maps aren't bad, it just has a lot fewer good ones than even pre-map pack Halo 2. Against Halo 1 though, the 4v4 is better in the original. Halo 1's skill gap was insane and it also had good maps.

So Basically:

BEST FFA: Halo 2

Best 4v4: Halo 1

Best Overall Experience: Halo 2 barely wins out imo. Mainly because of Xbox Live.

Atleast Reach is better than 3 though.

Halo 2 for Life!

COD copied Halo 1 for its grenade throws and than Reach copied COD for its grenade throws... It's a vicious cycle of grenade throwing proportions!

It's best to think of Reach as being influenced by COD, Halo3, and Halo 1 because that is what occured.

What I think influenced Halo games the most below:

Halo 1 = Majorly influenced by the PC game Counter Strike.
Halo 2 = Majorly influenced by Halo 1.
Halo 3 = Major influences by COD, Gears.
Reach = Major influences by Halo 1, Halo 3, COD.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Campaign: Halo 2.

Easter Eggs: a tie.

Multi-player: Halo 2 wins by one point.

Overall: Halo 2.
