Halo 2 for Life!

lol Yeah I've been watching Grumpy1's videos and it's like finding gold when you get to them. I really need to try a few of them for myself... Probably in a few months.

The Halo 1 vs Halo 2 battle is a lot closer than the Reach vs Halo 2 one.

FFAs in Reach are terrible. The kill times are so long that going on any sort of run is nearly impossible. Hiding around a corner and cleaning up kills is not only the fastest way to get kills, its the ideal strategy. The FFAs (MLG FFAs) in Halo 2 were the best I have played in any game ever. The pace of the game, melee system, kill times and map selection (Middy. Always Middy.)created the best FFA experience. I've played a good number of Halo 1 FFAs as well, but Halo 2s always had a more competitive edge for me.

In 4v4, Halo 2 beats Reach again. The combination of teamwork AND individual skill was much nicer than reach's. Halo 2 also wins on Map selection. All of Reach's maps aren't bad, it just has a lot fewer good ones than even pre-map pack Halo 2. Against Halo 1 though, the 4v4 is better in the original. Halo 1's skill gap was insane and it also had good maps.

So Basically:

BEST FFA: Halo 2

Best 4v4: Halo 1

Best Overall Experience: Halo 2 barely wins out imo. Mainly because of Xbox Live.

Atleast Reach is better than 3 though.

It's like if I had wrote that...

Simple reason is,
I got Halo 3 when it was released and while it was good it wasnt brilliant to me.
Halo reach though I picked up on budget (£9) and was blowen away by how playable it was. This got me very interested in the Halo universe again. I liked Halo 1 but the gap between 1 and 2 on pc was way to long to keep any pc gamer interested.

Anyhow short story of it is this, bought halo reach, liked it, got odst and then halo 2 for pc.
What I noticed was the halo 2 had epic megaliths and some of the maps where just huge compaired to the other games. But some of the levels where bad and buggy ( on pc). Yet it also has some really good set moments like protecting the scarab, the sheer size of the thing on pc seems far bigger than I remember on xbox, plus I like the high res models for 2 on pc. Just started halo 3 and the first thing I thought was wow the models look low polly to halo 2 on pc ( the landscapes on pc though are just ported intect so no update there) Halo reach on the other hand has good models, cleaver level design but not any real megal large maps or set pices exception being the end of the game but thats a cut sceene

In summury Halo reach because it got me interested in the franchise again. Right now I am playing threw the entire halo series again, just beat halo 2 again and now onto halo 3 then odst and reach. Then I will give halo a bit of a break again
;)

Halo 2 for Life!

I dont think he's talking about Halo 2 PC....

You probably shouldn't vote if you didn't play the console version of Halo 2 as that was the game that was outstanding. But it's a free world do as you please (although I think everyone that has voted against Halo 2 on the console has a similar history of never playing Halo 2 on the console for a good amount of time).

Halo Reach is Halo 3 with jetpacks.

Halo 2 for Life!

I knew the beta was horrible and BTB was non-existent, but it got worse lol. I mean jetpacks are a lame excuse for a feature I've ever seen. Right up there with armour lock, bubble shields, lasers, missile pods, flame throwers, and so much more gimmicky garbage Bungie has created after halo 2.

Again as I've said many a time, it's a shame Bungie must wear the rest of the time it's in existence it sold out to Microsoft and it's corruption (or others might say greed) showed up in it's horrible games that are void of good and full of bad.

I would like to think they listen but it's really too late now their games are bad and it's hard to go back and re-establish what was once present.

Worst games in history because everyone knew they could have been much more, Halo 3/ Halo Reach you betray all Halo fans!

Halo 2 for Life!

It has:

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=53948109

Also,

Halo 2 fans would out number Halo Reach fans if half those people knew what H2 was!

I'd say about half of the remaining population are new kids that only know the horrible H3 and Hreach and very little H1 and H2! This leads to a complicated community of people that vote against H2 without knowing much if anything about it usually. So dont expect a over whelming majority in your poll.

If yeah need to know most H2 players went to Gears and COD titles as those games are actually better than H3 and Hreach, titles not H2 but those titles. It is a problem Bungie had/has... How to replicate the perfection H2 and they failed miserably with H3/Hreach (they replicated parts of multiple games mixed with H1 stuff with little to no H2 goodness).

If you take that into account as well Halo 2 would be destroying Halo Reach right now like it should be as Reach is terrible and shouldn't even be called a game.

There both pretty good. But in my opinion if you want longer missions, better graphics, and better multiplayer, definetly Halo Reach. But for campaign I suggest Halo 2. I hope you find this haelpful!

I dis-like people voting without playing halo 2 for a good amount of time or doing at least a bit of research. Yeah H2 has skulls... Although a quick search on google would have probably given you that info....

I haven't played Halo 2 for Xbox (and I have never played Halo Reach), but from my experience on Halo 2 for Windows Vista, I'll say Halo 2 is better.

Permanent active camouflage to enjoy battles as a spectator on High Charity was what I liked most about Halo 2. I also liked the Scarab gun and the addition of Ultra Elites. The fuel rods looked neat, the Wraith was much better than the Halo 1 Wraith, and the homing feature of the rocket launcher was just brilliant.

You know it does nothing. It did nothing in Halo 3-1, you just did not notice it. Go on Halo 3 and rapid fire at a wall and the bullets get more random. Don't try to deny it. I've shot real guns, I should know.

H2. By far.

I also enjoyed the rocket launchers seeking ability in Halo2. It made BTB a lot of fun and balanced.

Halo 2 by far in Multiplayer. Didn't care for either of the Campaigns.

Although you answered the question in your title. "1 is better" lol.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Reach. Because it has more then 30 people playing it.

The problem with Reach's campaign, is that Bungie seem to have forgotten the sandbox FPS Halo WAS. They mixed Cod elements in the game, like Invisible walls, return to battlefield, no civilian killings, scripting etc etc.
Instead of having huge battles with lots of enemies on the screen, you only fight a bunch of small encounters here and there. It seems that instead of creating battles with A lot of enemies, they focused too much on graphics, and worthless cutscenes.
Also Reach may technical be the best in the graphics department, but all the other games have better design, colorpalette and astetics.

I make it sound like a bad game, and of course its not. It's defenitly between the best FPS out there. But comparing it to the previous games, it just seems like it took a wrong direction, and just not as good in comparison (both SP and MP actually).

Also the multiplayer...pfff. It's still Halo and good, probaly better than Halo 3, but with even worse maps than that game had (Heretic was a reliefe to get back though). I can't believe how mainstream friendly it have become. Look at all those huge Reach maps. Bungie had promised they woulden't forget the hardcore community and include small maps, i wonder when or if that will happen.

I think it's good Bungie is taking a break with Halo, it's clear that they become tired of making Halo, there are so many small problems with the game, that woulden't be found it the previous games.

Im looking forward to see Bungies next project very much though.
