steven spileberg to direct.....that's what this movie needs...if they get that the line for this movie will be at least a mile long at our theater......and is this the big news????

No way bud, Stephen S. although good, cannot direct this film. He will definitely introduce a creepy little girl who will predict future events. We can have that. Also, he will try to star tom cruise. That can't happen either.

The director should be a true fan of the series, and someone who is used to action. Maybe John Woo, or even better. The guy who directed Starship Troopers, what's his name, Paul Verhoeven. Have you seen the Roughneck Cronicles. That was done real well even though the animation was done cheaply. In fact if you watch Roughneck Chronicles you will feel as though you were watching a Haloish movie. Check it out.

Did I read someone suggesting Steven Spielburg for Director. No. Don't think so. How about Danny Boyle? After all, he directed 28 Days Later and Bungie already has Alex Garland, the writer of 28 Days Later on board. And Ridley Scott was an excellent suggestion too, but not Steven Spielburg (and that is the correct spelling, I looked it up).

Whats with the whole gorilla thing? anyways, so this peter jackson fellow... he must be a good producer or somethin cuz you guys seem to be pretty excited about him. Oh and bungie, dont let him make the movie to much like LOTR because then it wouldnt make sense.

Wait wait wait.

"Needless to say I and the rest of Bungie are positively incontinent (Marty especially). But what really knocks us on our asses is we’re also getting the combined talent of the mighty men and women of WETA in the bargain. From fabricating Covenant weapons to building life-sized Forerunner structures to accomplishing shot after shot of complex live-action/CG integration – simply put, there’s no group of people we’d rather have realize the Halo universe on screen."

Is that an official heads-up that the movie is going to be shot in live action? If so, then WHOO HOO!

Now that's Incredible

I think this was established before hand. It also has some rumours that the charcaters were originally rendered in order to fit movie profiles alreayd in Hollywood. (Ed Harris as the Commander)

Dude he is just the producer, not the director. This is to allow the wonderful team at WETA to be involved, and Peter and Fran to drive them.

I just wanna' say that Peter Jackson might be the most overrated filmmaker to ever walk the Earth. And having him on board the "Halo" film does NOT mean everything will go swimmingly. Have you all seen how bad the new "King Kong" looks? COME ON.

"LOTR" wasn't anything special. It didn't suck. But it was just a guaranteed blockbuster. You could've put ANYBODY at the helm of that film and it would've done well. Even, dare I say, BRETT RATNER.

Bungie, keep this guy far away from the film, please. Use his cash, his companies, whatever, but keep him away from it. What happened to Ridley Scott? Wasn't he mentioned at one point as Executive Producer? You got from a legend like Ridley Scott to an overrated "genius" like Peter Jackson?

Hand this movie over to a talented filmmaker, someone who has a handle on the games, that isn't a HUGE NAME, and watch the cash roll in, because even if it sucks, us idiot fans will rush out and see it opening weekend.

In summation:

1) Peter Jackson is overrated
2) Fanboys don't need to be pleased anymore, so using Jackson is redundant.
3) Ink a SOLID filmmaker. Not Rich Kelly or any other fanboy pleaser.

That is all.

(I am for Peter Jackson as producer ie:see previous posts, but this if for the DIRECTOR)

FOR ALL OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW RIDLEY SCOTT.

Here is his work. The point here is look at the movies That ARE good, because everyone has flops. The ones that shine, REALLY shine as examples of what he could do with a screenplay for Halo.

Anyway my point here is to gain supporters in the Ridley Scott choice, and if we get enough, EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO LISTEN.
Anyway, here is his stuff.

Okay, a few things. Jackson will probably be great yes. However, he still got's King Kong to finish and after that he's doin the hobbit. Will he put off the hobbit or halo? I'm thinkin Halo cause Hobbit is with LOTR and he got big off that. So I'm worried about the timing of when Halo will come out. Also, that's exactly what I hoped for, live action with cg added in

OMFG!! That's just about the sweetest thing that could have happened to this movie. Given the epic scale of Halo and the obvilously huge amount of CG required for it Peter Jackson is 100% the best man for the job. Awesome grab Bungie!! No all we need to know is who will play master Chief and it's smooth sailing.
Go for the Wolverine guy!! He's so bad A : P

King Kong is done, and Cristopher Tolkein GAVE THE BIG NO, to doing The Hobbit. He was very unhappy with LOTR's

So Jackson is 'pretty open,' but I am sorry I am not his secretary.

You guys, seriously, why does everyone hate Peter Jackson here? That guy is awesome. LOTR was made into one of the greatest movie trilogies ever! You guys know how popular the books were and still are? He knew that if the movies sucked, he'd go to hell. And that's why he put so much work into it. And that's why it was so good. And you guys know, of course, how popular Halo is. He knows it is. He knows that if it sucks, he will go to hell. So he is going to put a lot of work into it, and it won't suck. He's just repeating the chance he took at LOTR, and if he got it right the first time, I don't think he'll get it wrong the second time.
Personally, I'd have to say that I'm extremely excited, and cannot wait to see it on the big screen (or any screen fot that matter).

I just don't think people understand what is happening. DO !!! DUH !!!

Peter Jackson = Producer!!!!!!

which means it is still open to have

Ridley Scott = Director, or Producer!!!!!!!!

Bungie's goal is having the right stuff for the right things. Jackson and WETA is the best for the VISUAL effects in this film.
BUT ANYBODY WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT FILMS, KNOWS THE DIRECTOR IS IN CHARGE OF THE SHOT, THE LOOK, THE COMPOSTIONS....... EVERYTHING AS FAR AS "END PRODUCT"
