I'm pretty sure that makes me a cynic. It makes you jaded.

Holy shat. I came in here and it looked like a chat room for the mods. So much bright font!

Really, does anyone have a link to the script? l'm curious about it. l know it's fake but l can't help but be interested. And does the Arbiter really say, "Bring it?" No way! That's the fakest thing l ever heard.

and no you can't have my bud.

now THIS is entertainment.
what kind of moron comes on to bungies forums and attacks the mods?
I mean seriously. someone should give him a user status of "Desperately in need of a beating".

this is hillarious.

If my job is to "kill the truth", I have no earthly idea how I would accomplish such a job. In order to "kill truth" I would have to know what was true.

That should SO be a game. And of course, the Tru7h would be the final boss.

Also. This is all a conspiracy. The script was really let out by the moderators, who are secretly in the organizations known as the 777 and the Neo-Zanzis.

It's not really that funny. In fact, it's annoying. We'd be much better off if people were more skeptical.

I believe everything I hear on the internet is true. From my learning experiences I now know that pies can't have babies, the world will be tossed into an ice age in a few years, and that groups of mentally unstable beavers are gathering amies to march upon Atlantis. The script therefore must be true. [/sarcasm]

I believe that no one knows what the actual "truth" is except the people who are making it.

we'll see. i figure there's at least a year to work on it.

oh and if you give me a month, i'll give you your "official Halo Movie Script". and it will be sweet like sugar cubes dipped in chocolate honey. only, when the lawyers come, i didn't write it. right...

What's most "amusing" to me is that the original poster (who "has worked in PR for some time now") seems to think that we're part of some "PR mechanism".

If my job is to "kill the truth", I have no earthly idea how I would accomplish such a job. In order to "kill truth" I would have to know what was true. I would also likely need some sort of order or direction on how to proceed. The only direction that I recall getting is, "help keep the forums clean and fun, try to make sure that people know and follow the rules, and if they don't follow the rules (play nice), smite them without malice and if possible, insert some humor."

For the sake of argument:
You wouldn't have to know the truth to misdirect someone. If they say the halo movie script is false you say its true (with sarcasm) and if its true you say its false. Wether you know it or not you give the opposite answer just to misdirect everyone from actaully confirming its authenticity.

It's completely clear that the H3 script that was leaked is real. Just like PR teams that work for the government (but not as serious of course) these forum moderators main job is to kill any rumor or sliver of truth that they see make it to these pages. Just don't be fooled by a simple line from them saying "It's a total lie, don't believe it" or anything like that when it comes to the script that got leaked, they themselves don't know the truth after all. I've worked in PR for some time now and I know how the game works........So forum monkeys go ahead and flame this post, it is your job after all.

You really believe that, don't you? Do you honestly think that Bungie and the mods would lie to the community? All that would accomplish is them losing our faith and respect, and their own credibility, when the truth finally came out. For some reason, I don't think you're very good at your job.

Skeptisizm is entirely too common actually. It's easier to find a conspiracy theory web page full of that so-called skeptisizm than it is to find a legitimate page with real information. If you want to be skeptical, fine, just do it on your own website unless you want the companies moderators and admins to use you for a textual punching bag.

I mean seriously, if you came into my house and started ranting at me I would kick ur butt straight out the door. Frankly, I think the mods have been lenient. If it were me people posting this kind of tripe would be black listed on the grounds of simple stupidity.

You don't come into someone's house and crap on the carpet.

Well, we could have blacklisted him and deleted the thread, but that would have been nowhere near as much fun.

Why does it sound like we have different definitions of skepticism?

I was just about to make the same observation. This article covers what I think when I hear the term "skeptic"... the other I think would best be covered by the term "crank".

The former is what my definition of a skeptic is. It sounds like what DJ Infamous was using was an antonym(No pun intended) of scientific skepticism.

That script isn't real because my brother's friends uncle's cousin three times removed wrote it. If AICN don't believe it's real then it's not real.
