1--Wow, if the SMG sucks, why do I score so many kills with it? Not just me; countless Halo 2 players. Yeah, it sure is a peashooter [/sarcasm].
2--It does require skill; think about it, you're going to get killed if you walk right up to an enemy and start shooting with it, and to me, this seems to be exactly what you do. You have to pair the SMG up with grenades and melees; use effective strategies with it. You just don't like it probably because you get right up to someone's face and lose. And about its large target reticle--it is a ballistics weapon that sprays bullets.
3--Um, no, actually, it does not require much skill to use a Halo 1 pistol. You aim and shoot 3 or 4 times and you win. For some odd reason, no one seems to believe me--partly because the people criticizing Halo 2 don't want to hear the truth--it was easy scoring kills with the pistol. Try using other weapons on Halo PC instead of grabbing the same one over and over again.
4--I play with my brother because our skill is equally matched. My brother is awesome at both Halo and Halo 2. You telling me to stop playing Halo with him and to start playing online is just plain stupid. I don't get smacked online. I'm not bad at it, actually. I only get beaten because we have the typical people with the typical weapon--the pistol--all the time. I have never seen the needler be used more than once on a single server on Halo PC. Why? Because the pistol is the dominating weapon. Everyone used it. Fallback weapon? Please. It was more like "the only" weapon.
So far, the negative comments that were posted in reply to my posts have been nothing but the same old "Well stop playing with your brother u noob." Typical thing to say if you can't think of anything to reason against. Good job debating.
You know what? I'm sure that there are people somewhere in the world, capable of killing you instantly with a toothpick. That does not mean that it is more fun than using a massive assault rifle.
You missed my point entirely.
Dude, why the hell are you criticizing the Pistol in Halo1, when the time it takes to kill someone is cut in half by the Halo2 Combo. First of all when you combo, you don't even have to hit them in the head with the PP, then since the hitbox in Halo2 is so massive, its hard not to get a headshot with the BR.
It was SIMPLE to get a headshot wth the pistol! From where I was standing when I shot my brother, the hitbox covered his whole head! And I was, what, around 50 feet away? Three shots below the head killed him. And paired up wth the pistol's rapid firing rate--you got yourself a killing machine.
About the BR-it's way more balanced than the pistol ever was. Look at campaign mode--in Halo 1, the hunters were very deadly creatures, yet it took a single shot from the pistol to kill one. Balanced? Suuuuuuure...
In multiplayer, the BR is balanced. It takes more shots than the pistol to kill with, slower rate, and less ammo. The hitbox, if I recall, was just as big as the Halo 1 pistol's. Don't try to deny it.
With the Pistol from Halo1, you had to hit them within like 2 inches of the head in order to get a headshot thus getting 3 shot kills.
Guess what: although you love denying true info. like this, I have to tell you: you could hit the player BELOW the head with the pistol and still kill them with three shots.
I don't mind that you mindlessly love Halo2, i just hate that you condescendingly bash people for liking Halo1. Most people who don't like Halo2 don't give a -blam!- that you like it, we just don't like the game itself. You on the other hand just think people that like Halo1 are idiots with no right to an opinion.
You are taking me the wrong way. I don't "mindlessly love" Halo 2; I am giving good reasons. You, on the other hand, reply with the most freaking idiotic comments such as "Have you even played Halo 1?" Not you personally; other people with a similar opinion as yours. Honestly, people that are criticizing the game on this thread resort saying the dumbest of things when they don't know what to say. Like "you're a noob," "your brother's a noob," etc. Be more original and try to stick up for your opinion for once.
I don't think you are all idiots; I, for one, like Halo 1 just as much as I like Halo 2. It's just that some people who respond to my posts call me a noob when really they can't even back up their own opinion.
If you can't discuss ideas in an acceptable manner, don't say anything, and most of all don't start a big-ass post-pyramid, those are hella annoying.
You, my friend, are the one who is not discussing anything in an acceptable manner. I repsond to people. They respond back, but with a hint of acute unintelligence; so I respond back with some of my own insults. I'm simply using your own meds against you.
