Ha. Now that's what I hate, how parents always think video games are bad, it angers me. They don't realize that people's job is to make games. TV is just as bad as games, even worse. In movies they show peoples body parts flying everywhere, and if any, there's only been one or two games that have done that. There's a lot more sex/-blam!- themes and bad language in movies. I bet, depending on what game you use (probably Halo), that if you did a test on someones brain between a video game and math, the brain would be more active for the game. There's so much I can go into, but I don't because were not here to talk about that. Also, to add to it, studies show that playing video games make you have better hand-eye cordination! So, to sum it up, video games are not bad, they just use up a lot of time, but same with homework, and reading. Now you could say homework and reading is bad, because they take up your time. But they help you learn and help you become more intellegent. Then you can go back and say video games are good then, they keep your brain active and help with hand-eye cordinatoin. In stradegy games, you have to think of things and ways to win. Now you can say a video game can help a person become a better soldier. And to top it, the military has video games to help train soldiers. I should stop now.

As these will show you - Halo is FAR from mindless

Well, most people don't (or can't) understand the scope of the Halo story. Parents, or even new people to the game don't expect a game to have any real plot. Lets face it, some games are quite mindless, and for parents, the mindless ones are always the ones they use to stereotype the good games. "Oh, Doom is a plotless demon-killing shooter game, so Halo must be no different." Of course, you can't just 'show them it's not' because even veteran Halo players dont even know the whole story yet! You can't just show someone the whole game, read them all the books, and show them all the theories in five minutes to try and change their mind. Bungie fans that are in it for the long run, because they believe in the developer, are the only people that will give a rat's ass how complex and exciting the story is.

They think video games are bad because they look at GTA and thats it.

BTW, nice quoting from the levels...I can't believe you actually listened to all of it, but good job anyway.

I would have done the Book too - but I wanted the Theory to be debatable by all. Whether they had the books or not. I did check the books, just to make sure nothing conflicted.

I certainly hope that most, if not all, is revealed in Halo 2. I really enjoyed reading your post and I hope Halo 2 goes into the Forerunner story beyond the simple Covie vs. Human stuff.

As far as "Installation 04" being on "Halo," I think that Installation 04 IS "Halo" because if not, Cortana probably would have found additional Control Rooms. Assuming that the Control Room is the "installation."

It's too bad you decided to stop typing becuase I really like how you put that all together.

LOL I'm sorry -- It was part laziness and part getting ready to surf -- Hurricane Chollie gonna put up some waves!! Mostly laziness though -- I want to use this opportunity to tell everyone that I may not be on for a week or so -- Depends of if the 'Cane takes out power for long.

Thanks Jim and Kungfu, I understand the theory alot more clearly now...

Forerunners build Halo for research and protection (against nothing specific). In times of war they would protect the human race, and (my own personal thought) the convenant, or atleast prophets, on a different Halo. Flood outbreak, they have to pulse and capture the flood (how would they do that?) and store them in the Halo for reseach. "...and keep your enemies closer"

Do I have this down right?

Yes -- sort of -- Think of Installation 004 (whether it's the actual Halo or a facility ON Halo) as the CDC -- They keep samples of all sorts of deadly viruses, Ebola, AIDS etc.. Simply for study. I think this is what the forerunner did -- before they wiped out the Flood -- they captured some to study and possibly experiment with.

Wow, I can't believe I hadn't thought of this sooner, especially being a Starcraft player. Halo has human like environments, and they researched the Flood on Halo. These are facts of the game. I think a lot of people would agree, the best way to research a species is to see it in action. What if they took a sample of Humans, put them on Halo, and released the flood upon them to closely examine and study the Floods methons of invasion and reproduction...everything...

Do you think theres a possibility in this?
