Another thing about Reach. I just spent 2 hours (starting at 7:16 AM. right now it's 9:04 am) playing LNoS on Legendary and studying the AI extensively. My conclusion is that everything in it's campaign is unfair, even on Easy difficulty but especially on Legendary. My verdict:
On Easy, the Covies have quite a lot of damage resistance and the Elites are fast. And they have this uncanny ability to know where you are, kinda like in MoH Airborne. No big deal right? Wrong. It's a sign that this campaign is -blam!- messed up.
On Normal, an Elite major can take 1-2 melees after losing his shield without flinching. This is also when Jackals start getting resistant to frag grenade explosions and where a supposedly highly trained team of troopers blow themselves up to kingdom come when there are 4-5 rocket launcher guys. This is also when Jackals start doing their cheap overcharged bolt + plasma pistol bolts combo.
On Heroic, say goodbye to your frags. They're near useless. And this is when the AI start "spotting you" like when you stick your head out, their attention is on you. They can see you from some distance but if they can't see you, they just stand there. Their AI is so horrific that they don't even notice their fallen. The key here is to shoot from long range. It works. The reason why it doesn't work when you're on ground is because you're in their view. There's like a 270 degrees camera embedded in their heads. This is also when friendly betrayals get really annoying. The troopers have absurd health. It's no wonder why Reach fell, that bastard planet. Even worse is the fact that Noble team AI one shot kill you when you've betrayed enough. At least I could kill Arbiter in H3.
On Legendary, kiss your ass goodbye. This is when everything is way too fast. It's not that concussion rifle wielding Elites shoot their rifles faster. It's the obvious highly noticeable fact that the damn projectile is unnaturally faster than it's supposed to be. The only strategies that works here is speedrunning, glitches, plasma pistol bolts, shooting from afar. This is not even Legendary. This is Halo 3's Mythic! Yeah, you could try to avoid the concussion rifle projectile. It's possible. I've done it before. You could try to get assassinations. It's the only reason why I'm even playing Reach. I got some good ones in my initial play. But they're both -blam!- hard to achieve when there's so much support from those cheap Jackals!! And then there's Elite majors. I'm not even going to bother mentioning their cheapness.
So I say:
Reach sucks ass. Halo 3 is better. It's more realistic, enjoyable on all difficulties, has better glitches, doesn't give me cold hands or throbbing fingers, and a lot other reasons.
Of course Halo 2 gives me warm hands, but at least it's ENJOYABLE! Reach is NOT fun.

Edit:
Hmm, maybe I might have been trying too hard. I did play all night long. I just played 3 hours of LNoS on Legendary except I didn't bother with the blockades. I just did my assassination attempts. And it went well!
Edit (hopefully final):
I take that back. In Reach, everything's against you. I'm ok starting out with the AR but giving me that near useless magnum instead of the DMR... horrible! The bloom, the damage, no automatic fire, small clip size, small magazine. This is hardly reminiscent of CE! The Reach pistol is horrendous!!
Finally, the fall stun. I don't care about taking fall damage but fall stun being in a Halo game with armor abilities. Ridiculous! It was suitable for CE, because it didn't have any of that. But it's not suitable for a game with armor abilities.
