Every time I try to revisit H3, the inferior network model drives me back. Although, Halo hasn't really driven me at all the last two years.
Halo 3's network model was great at the time. It could handle host migrations faster and better than Halo 2, Halo: Reach and all the Call of Duty games. Host-migrations in Halo: Reach on average took a bit longer to resolve than in Halo 3.
And Halo 3 (including ODST) is the only Halo game in the series with a network model that let's you watch film clips with up to 3 other friends (total of 4 people).
So in reality, Halo 3, despite being almost 5 years old, has one of the most robust and advanced network models of any modern game.
Yes, and I was absolutely stunned when I first got to experience it. But Reach's is better. I have never, ever felt that I were at a disadvantage for not being host. I have never experienced latency and I have never had bullets not "count" for no particular reason. Neither have I ever been shot through walls.
Also, let's not mention CoD. It giver me an acidic taste in my mouth.
