Don't ask me how, i am free of this ever annoying problem since i changed from a cable provider to a adsl provider.

I asked many times for a solution for this problem on this forum but never got an answer i can use..
I decided to uninstall halo and not play it anymore.
And just in case you are wondering ... I tried a full de-install and install of halo already down to the point of a format and then a new install of windows. never a problem only in halo online. All of this before the point that i got tired of halo.

I also decided to change from a expensive cable 4Mbit down/ 512Kbit up to a cheaper and therefor slower internet connection through adsl 800Kbit down/256Kbit up. to cut down on costs.
But my curiousity was too strong, so i installed halo again. I played it for a month now and
i never got the vorbiss.dll exception anymore.

From my former experience with this forum i do not expect any reasonable answer but i just wanted to let you know.

From a angry customer to a surprised customer. Halo, the only game that was constantly crashing while online. never crashed during campaign do...

I only know that on cable (eurodocsis) there is a timeslicing principle. every connected modem get's a short time of attention, then the next modem can have it's share. Adsl is a point to point connection. Maybe with some cable providers (upc) this causes halo netcode to get hickups.

I don't know, This is guess work now...
