OK, i'm so friggin tired of people asking why Sgt. Johnson is in Halo 2. So, for those of you too lazy to read the books, i'll explain for the last time why he's still alive.
In the book Halo : First Strike by Eric Nylund, we learn that while fighting a fierce battle vs.the covenant during the seige of Paris IV, he grabbed a crate of plasma grenades, used them all and recieved a 1200 rad dose of radiation which developed into Boren's syndrome.
Remember that. It's important.
When Sgt. Johnson's squad encountered the Flood on Halo they tried to turn Johnson into one of them. However, due to the effects of Boren's syndrome, which disrupt the electrical signals in a person's nervous system, the flood found him incompatible for transformation. He basically "tasted bad" and was spared.
He later escaped the destruction of Halo in a pelican with an ODST, a pelican pilot and an ONI Lt. Cortana did not pick up thier signal at the end of the game because radiation was disrupting their scanners. MC rescued them all and after a long chain of events, returned them to Earth.
The legendary ending was a joke made by Bungie, not meant to be taken seriously.
Please! NO MORE of those stupid posts!
This is all direct from the book. Don't believe me? Read it.
Thank you for your time
Also, if you thought the flood killed Sgt. Johnson in 343 GS, look at the group of marines you find as you are leaving the level: Sgt. Johnson is in the group.
