!!! Is it just me, or is it agrivating when you need to read a handbook to understand someones post because its so discombobulated that you can't even comprehend most of it? Seems like it would make people seem like their opinions are worth reading, because they can obviously muster the mental muscle to combine letters and make words, instead of spewing a bunch of shorthand crap. !!!

I don't even think a spell check could help some of the posts that people make these days.

Spell checkers would have a field day with this thread alone. I'm in agreement with Littlerat. I just type it all in word first before posting if i'm not sure of spelling.

I have no clue where you got that idea, but Sourceforge is a site for hosting open source(free, among other things) projects.

dude, you pulled a jesus!

As already said here, spell check wouldn't have much affect on those who don't even try to spell. examples: Zanzibar, spammers, and many members of the Flood (sadly)

Plus spell check doesn't always make the correct corrections...the irony is unbelievable.

The only people who need a spell checker wouldn't use it.

We shouldn't give in to their laziness, if you don't like reading it you might aswell not in the first place.

oh, sweet irony. how i love thee.

that aside, i agree that people should know how to spell. but a spell checker cant fix that, and the way things are going with public education, it wont matter in a few years. at least i'll be useful when the japanese and their robots come. you will all be taken as slaves.

Exactly.

I was wondering when someone was going to catch that, I was beginning to lose all hope.

Freeware can't be organized into one solid "free stuff" group. If that were true, open source operating systems(such as the various Linux distrobutions) wouldn't be as widespread as they are.
