Subject: So I just picked up Halo 2 PC...

And I must say it is pretty awesome. I wish I could have played the original on xbox, but I didn't have one at the time. Works great on my computer. I am currently soloing the campaign on Legendary, on the second mission. I love the online too, it is loads of fun. I just wonder why some people say that Halo 2 for the PC was horrible.

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Since I am a modder, and wanted to do the fun mods I did on Halo 2 Xbox, I am pissed of at this game.

This Server is fun

Don't expect anyone else apart from me to be doing this

xD

i think they should have made the servers just like the way they did for xbox for the pc but thats the only flaws i could see in the pc version but other then that i think they did a great job

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Didn't I see you way back in the day with a [DA] tag? I can see why you'd think Halo 2 is good if that's the case.

If it was in Halo CE then yes you did see me.

The Ultimate OmniMech

People say it's horrible because the graphics are very outdated, and the online lags quite a bit. Also, it was Vista exclusive and uses GfWL, 2 widely hated applications.

It's a cool game, gameplay wise, I quite like it.

Odd, I got mine to work on Win 7 with no problem, just installed and played. And yeh, GFWL is not the greatest thing, but the fact that I can talk with my friend while he is on his xbox is pretty cool in my mind. It is too bad Halo is not on steam, it would make it much better IMO.

It was Vista only, but since Win 7 comes after, it runs on 7. It is "artificially" blocked on XP, only cracked versions run on XP.

Hey, I actually never had any problem with GfWL as it is, I like the integration with xbox live and stuff. But most people hate it, and even I have to agree that it's sorely lacking (mostly interface, offer, and pricing) as a competitor of Steam.

Support the Grunt revolution! no more being cannon fodder !

GFWL isn't nearly as bad as it had been, they've overcome by far most problems with the service. Only problem left is, it's just not able to compete with steam, and since the xbox guys are in charge of it, i doubt that'll change, unless some people in the top of microsoft are willing to invest in it. I'd really like to see a competitor to steam. I like steam and use it myself, but as many others, im afraid of the day a -blam!-storm by the name activision is gonna buy valve and we gotta pay subscription for using steam, a strong competitor would prevent that.

Try playing it on a plane to England! I have been there and done that :P

Seriously though I am happy to see more people appreciate the game... I love it as well, and believe that it deserves more respect and attention than it does.

J23: Ready 4 Anything
We must move forward. Learn, Improve, Evolve

I've played it through once on Normal for the PC version. I've installed it once again but my CD key has passed it max amount of uses. It's a good game. I still have my Limited Collectors Edition of Halo 2 for Xbox.

I agree with that. I won't use steam if I have to pay for it. Than again I'm not paying for games on it atm. I get all the free stuff of steam.

That reminds me, how many uses do I get out of one CD key. I was thinking of letting my bro install it too,

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

You haven't had it stolen back from you yet. Re-install it a few times, then be forced to buy it again. Seriously, wake up to the scam. It's sick watching people enthusiastically recommend this digusting rip-off posing as a Halo game.

Let 'em, Node. Anyone with an IQ over 80 can see that H2V is absolute garbage, so let's keep those idiots off of the games that are actually good so we don't have to deal with them.

I just got Halo 2 Vista recently, also. It's a pretty good port, but I'm dissapointed to see how small the online community is. There's only a couple of games going on with a significant amount of people at any time and they're usually playing game types that I'm not interested in. Then I try to create my own room, and hardly anybody joins.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

The community used to be bigger, but a hack attack took half the servers offline.

I have no idea what your are talking about... I have redeemed my code several times. There is no need to buy it again.

@jasonx1 i have the same problem, but if you start a "swords" game on foundation and invite people, you get a pretty big crowd, then once the game is over just change it to another map, usually a few people leave but a lot will join in on the game after it has begun because of the amount of people in it

GFWL is really stupid.

Their product activation limits.
Their own website is crawling with fanboys,
who think GFWL is all cool, and can beat Steam, these same people hate the idea of Halo 3/ODST and Reach for PC, and yet they don't see anything wrong with H2V.

They wouldn't know a fun mod if it hit them in the nuts.
I got banned just for showcasing my mods and hacks, yep all my posts deleted, because GFWL is so -blam!- stupid.

I posted the same on 343i and Bungie.net, do I get B& ? nope.

I guess at the time people had higher standards for console ports.

But HALO 2 PC was a fairly competent port. Plus, if you crank up the AF setting it looks pretty good still.

(Actually, if you force AF and AA up high, even HALO:CE still holds up on the PC. Of course, you'll need to find an FOV hack if you're on a widescreen monitor, but it's impressive how well the art direction and graphics still work all these years later).

H2V was bad.My old Vista computer 3 years ago can't even run it and the PC can't read the maps to install it.It took my 64-bit to run H2V smoothly and also download the maps.I thought my disk was damaged, but it's just Microsoft's sh** Early 32-bit Vistas.Overall, the gameplay is terrible,Half your sniper shots don't even register or the BR.And it takes almost a whole clip to use.
