I want to see your opinions on this opening chapter.
Here goes,
He lay on his back. The sun was hot on his lips, he gently took off his helmet being carful not to touch the 6cm gash on his face. He grunted as the helmet scrapped it and blood seemed out, he was getting clumsy. He new he was dead lower down his armour was a Energy sword cut, he had taken the blow to save an innocent civilian. He hoped the woman had escaped.
He relaxed, If he was going to die he would like to die comfortably. His thoughts swirled around in his head bringing up memories that he which should of best been kept buried. He reminisced about his training to be a Spartan II. He had regretted joining up for the program. Dr.Halesey had approached him but his family had saved him from this, his inevitable fate.
Why? Why had he decided to follow her and join the program, the only Spartan II who had volunteered, Oh! How he begged he could of changed that. He still remembered the same words Dr.Halesey had said to him, the cold heartless words "You're the soldier we needed you to be". Is that all he was? A Soldier? He wished his parents were by his side so for once as a Spartan he could Be Human.
Two figures emerge from the now dampened light. They were blurred but he could still make out the purple of the needlers, for once he actually blessed his Spartan eyesight. He smiled, his time had come.
