...On computers with dial up or slow broadband, it runs horribly. I think that there should be a less intensive low quality version to browse the site, and you would choose high or low quality when you opened the home page.

You could always get something better, then it would run smoothly.

I could personally go for a more traditional, simplified layout for the site. Not because my connection can't handle it, but because I'm minimalist by nature. I don't really go for the incredibly elaborate, sleek visual styles.

When things get complex like this, things get restricted, like the actual content of the site is forced entirely on the left side of the window with nothing to counterbalance it. It's a little distracting at high resolutions.

Not harping on Achronos' amazing work, it's a personal thing.

Bandwidth caps most definitely suck... I'm going with Bulldog soon; 8mb/s unlimited bandwidth for just £30/m.

Yeah, I remember when I had dial-up. Horrible days those were. But now I have 6mb/s for $30 a month so I'm sweet.

In the Bungie future, anything less than 1MB will be illegal.

That's the way to be. Stupid small files. Or did you mean connection speed?

I can't have any dsl but I'm thinking of getting satelite. It's not because of this site though. It works fine for me.

Awesome. I think I have like 11 Mb. Not sure though.

I don't know how you can live with dial-up. I could never go back to it. I have Comcast broadband. I couldn't stand anything slower.

I have a 5Mb/s for $40 a month. I don't think there is a bandwidth cap. I'm going to have check that because I transfer a lot of files from home to my laptop on the go. That could get ugly with some movies. The low quality version of this sight would probably just w/o pictures. So disabling pictures would help a lot.

Edit:
That didn't work very well. It leaves the page all screwed up. If I didn't know where the toolbar was I would be lost. All the buttons are gone and the sides are completely white.

I find it rediculously stupid at how high internet prices can be. Seriously, I think we should just be able to buy a 200gb hard drive for the server at an initial cost, and have the other bills at around $10-20 for the employee costs. It really shouldn't cost that much at all. There isn't very much man-power involved in hooking up red wire to red wire. Or in most cases, blue wire to gray port.

This site runs fine for me (but then again, I have DSL and not dial-up). But sooner or later, dial-up will be extinct... I just know it.

Not until broadband is free. There are some people who just don't appreciate the value of highspeed, and refuse to pay for it.
