It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

The Big Whats Weekly Update thread made by Frank was Greyed out. Locked forever.

Why? It was still getting questions every day.

I read it often to see if my problems where happening to others. So im just wondering.

You can speculate just as well as I can... but here is my speculation anyway.

1. Frankie doesn't read it and didn't want to give people false hope.

2. It was getting off topic, changing to a general rant topic.

3. Frankie is planning something similar soon. Maybe a new thread.

Let's see if I am right.

Ok We will make a pool oput of it.

ill go with

1. One of the mods is changing the sticky system, and adding it to threads of interest, but locked it so it wouldnt constantlybe at the top anyway.

2. The same complaints are made day by day and Bungie got sick of reading it.

3. They are working on Project #3 and a new thread will be made.

Ok those are my guesses

Well lately the Weekly Updates haven't had any Q/A. So I'm guessing the Updates will be about there new project or the movie from now on. So why would they have a thread for no reason?

But thats just my speculation on the issue.

I bet it was just getting off-topic or out of hand. It is also possible that Frankie just didn't want to check it anymore.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

I locked and unpinned it for two reasons:

1. Threads greater than 10000 posts tend to slow things down a tad when they're on the front page.
2. We don't do Weekly What's Updates anymore - we're back to the "Bungie Weekly Update". This means we don't look in that thread for specific questions anymore. It was therefore unnecessary.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

Again, crystal clear answers.

Thank you.

Understandable.

WAIT

Can we still ask questions and possibily have them answered? If so where?

Good question! My guess is to PM a Moderator. If it serious, PM Achronos. Or if the gods of B.net would not disregard this...they could possibly think about adding a Q&A forum, but it would be different from the FAQ's. Because the questions would most in likely be a random one time deal. Not something like: "How do I like link my gamertag to the other thing ya' know?"

Excuse the slang/nub language.

Talk about your questions in the forum. If it is appropriate, we'll probably answer. We also do look in the forum for general issues that need to be mentioned.

Yeah, it really sucked for me. It got eliminated pretty much right as I joined bnet. So I never had a chance to get a question answered.

Also, when you post a question in the forum, and it is answered, other people who might have the same question see the answer. If you were to just PM someone, their PM box might be flooded with the same question.

Would it be possible for a new Q/A thread to be made in which members could help members?

You should just make a thread. Members will answer it there.

How did I know that the argument would be along those lines?

I wouldn't consider it spam unless they post many times and ask really dumb questions.

Hmm,making a thread would be a good idea, the mods obviously don't want their pm box flooded with dumb and repitive questions.(Unless they want more attention)
