Literally the one thing Arena didn't need, less gametypes. There are already less gametypes than in the Beta, now there is only 1. Makes the mode extremely boring and tedious. And no voting just leaves people stuck with maps they rather not play.


Arguably, the idea of being "skilled" at a game is not just about where you are best but how good you are over a spectrum of variants, maps, etc.

So while I agree that having only 1 game-type sucks, I also don't want to get stuck playing boardwalk 50 gazillion times because everyone wants to camp the snipe. I have no problem with arena designating maps. More game-types, fo sho tho.

Yesh but that wasn't an example of coordinated teamwork, that was an example of me just running into a room and just getting lucky enough to find three people not paying attention, it wasn't planned, it wasn't coordinated with my teammates, it was just luck. I agree that teamwork is part of competitive gameplay, and I also think that it is a good team strategy to have one person distract the enemy while another goes and assassinates him, BUT YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE OUT A WHOLE TEAM IN ONE FIREFIGHT DOING THAT. You said that it was because they weren't yelling "turn around", which is correct but not because they didn't care, they did not even know I was there, they were all made to look like idiots. I agree that the armor abilities can be anti-competitive (especially on Asylum) but so is not having a radar. Not having a radar leads to numerous cheap ways to kill someone:

1. Camping with the shotgun or other power weapon and you don't even have to crouch to keep the enemy form knowing you're there.

2. Assassinating an entire team in the back because they don't even notice you (which is fun but not what I would call getting kills skillfully

3. Following someone for an entire minute just to assassinate them (and I have seen that happen countless times)

While it is true that teamwork and warning others is important, you should consider that not everyone has a mic, in fact, usually in the Arena, I am one of two people on my team with a mic so even though teamwork is helpful, you're not in an MLG team in the Arena, you're being paired up with people you don't know and half the time they can't talk to you because they don't have a mic which is why a radar is important because you can't always rely on a teammate to tell you that someone's behind you. Also the Arena doesn't really feel that much like teamwork type competition, sure it helps but they way the score system is set up, I find that players are more encouraged to get more kills than their teammates (and enemies) as opposed to working as a team. It's not like they're going to betray their teammates or anything like that, but they are just going to be lone wolves and go about doing their own thing trying to rack up more kills than anyone else in the game. For the type of competition you are looking for they would either need an MLG playlist with no seasons or division ratings, or they would need to make a playlist for Arena where you rating in the arena for a match is the same as that of all your teammates, that way you need to work together to minimize the amount of deaths your team takes as a whole and maximize the amount of kills you're team takes as a whole.

This is to all those people who are like "Slayer Pro? Screw that I dont like it!"
Really, you tell us pro's to stop our complaining when in fact your the one complaining about it being there at all. Do you think were whining about stupid ass jet packs and armor lock? You can have your scrub skills and weapons but when you step into our arena don't complain when you get owned like it was our job. Learn to keep into what you like and stay out of ours if you don't. But that gives bungie no right to favor one side. If they don't have a competitive playlist im done with reach. It's stupidly cheap to how bad kids are yet they use cheap ass skills and weapons to win...Camo Sniper....
So Stop your complaining and if you can't learn to have equality then who's the 10 year old whining kid? YOU. Grow the hell up and stop complaining about the majority wanting PRO. GO BACK TO YOUR ONE MONTH OF FAME.
And Bungie. I can guarentee this game won't last nearly as long as Halo 3 if you don't establish a competitive type of play or the playlist desired but quite a few people. You will lose your respect for being such a good game designer and carrier, as i so believe right now, and you will lose gamers for your next game if you plan on making one. Because who wants to buy a game from a crap Creator? So stay golden bungie, you've had a great history so far, don't ruin it.

like some of the updates for halo reach but one i can't agree on is taking out slayer pro in arena people liked choosing between the two and alot of people aren"t agree with bungie"s decision. but i bet alot of us are hoping for a mlg playlist in arena for halo reach like they did in halo 3 multiplayer

Completely illogical to remove pro AND voting from Arena. Everything else in the update made perfect sense. This makes none. And no explanation for it either? Seriously Bungie, you're starting to piss me off again. I thought Reach was your salvation from that terrible Halo 3 game. You guys just keep on making it worse since the beta. Why not remove Slayer DMRs instead? Someone needs to resign and let a competent human being make decisions over there. Are your testers retarded or just kissing your asses? Btw thanks for adding the soft kill to zealot space. It took me about 15 seconds of experiencing that map to come up with that idea. Why don't you let me replace whoever's job it is for multiplayer lead cuz he really sucks.

Theory 1: Bungie is sabotaging Halo because they're mad at 343 and want everyone to hate Halo and bankrupt 343's next Halo game.

Theory 2: MP design lead is on a massive painkiller addiction and is so cracked out that he thought this was a good idea.

Theory 3: Whatever happened to MP design lead during Halo 3 is happening again ( see theory 2?)

They didn't need to take it out it was fine the way it was and at the same time the assault riffle is under powered(the reason pepole love the DMR(still great gun))but bungie needs to keep their act togeather it seams to slowly keep falling appart. Don't listen to 100% fans add your own thoughts to it to!

I hate the loss of slayer pro in season 2. Slayer pro was the only game type i enjoyed because it was the only one that took legitimate halo skill. I've been playing for over 7 years and the new additions (jet packs, armor lock, ect...) take the fun of the game away from me and many other faithful halo players. Bring back slayer pro or make an mlg playlist or something because you've taken the one reason I enjoyed Halo away from me. Not to mention the loss of voting was a mistake by Bungie as well. You talk about improving Reach game play when you've destroyed the competitive side of halo for everyone. You've done a disservice to me and many other frustrated Halo players with these irrational changes. I can see that you want us to explor the new game options reach offers, but quit frankly they water down the greatest parts Halo has offered over the years.

I think that if you're going to make arena only have one gametype in it, then you should at least let people choose from a few maps. Now you're stuck with whatever you get and have no vote, which gets annoying when you end up playing Powerhouse 4 times in a row.

Also I feel that regular non-DMR start slayer should get more representation (or at least some), considering fighting for a DMR as a valuable weapon is way more exciting (and skillful) than just starting with a gun that can destroy people so effortlessly. Part of what makes Halo fun is having to go out and find your weapons, and starting with a DMR takes away that. I know a lot of people disagree with this, which is why some of those "Make an MLG playlist!" ideas actually make sense. That way if they don't want to deal with assault rifles and pistols and the wonderful classic Halo experience, they can. All I'm saying is leaving regular slayer out of the arena all together is silly, and I think whether you prefer it to DMR Slayer or not there's a way to appease both sides.

Other things I've noticed include that mountain-top sniper spot on Paradiso, which is a little unfair because it has cover on one side and not the other, meaning that one team will always be able to have control over it. Hemorrhage needs more heavy weapons to deal with vehicles, and maybe adding a rocket hog would be cool just cause. I like the idea of armor lock, but something about it just feels off and leaves the armor locker with a little too much of an advantage. Maybe it lasts too long or can be used too often or something, I don't know.

The last thing I think is important is that One Flag CTF on Sword Base should totally go back to how it was in the beta. It was incredibly interesting to have to carry it up the ramps and everything and have that be the big fight rather than stealing it, however I think if it was like this then the grav-lift in the center would have to be killed.

Anywho, just a few friendly suggestions that some people I know and I have thought would be useful. Keep on keepin' on.

you should have taken infection out of rumble pit and gave it it's own playlist. Everytime i go on rumble pit ppl choose infection. I have gone 6 games in a row now playing infection when i would rather play slayer and im staying away from rumble pit until you guys change it.

Just read the update and still no explanation for the changes in Arena. Very disappointing to say the least.

Just because some people complained about it. I used to like playing BTB even though i almost never got to get in the tank, it was fun and challenging to try to take it out. It was a change because you never got to drive it in matchmaking in halo 3. Same thing happend there. BUT THIS GAME is not halo 3!!

Can We have a mode with the normal setting as they were in release? This wraith is just not even fun to take out. It's slow, stupid and just not a challenge.

I understand that some may camp the tank, but the other side had a tank and there's plenty of grenade launchers and rockets about to take it out. I know a fact theres that covenant grenade sticky gun in the middle with take it out.

I am sorely dissapointed and irked. :/

Do you have any idea how the rating system works?? First off you get the same amount of points for assists as you do kills. If you have a team that everyone is working together and helping each other out everyone on the team can potentially score higher then the best person on a team that is not working together. You should really learn about the rank system before you talk. Secondly the motion tracker promotes camping. If you turn the corner with it off and there is someone camping you are probably both equally shocked to see each other. Given the circumstances he may have the upper hand this time but next time (If you are smart) he will not. With the motion tracker on the camper can see you coming. The ability to know whats around the corner helps/promotes camping. Any one that disagrees is either naive, doesn't play Halo at all or are complete noobs.

PS. I love everything Bungie is doing except taking away slayer pro (obviously). Add a team snipers playlist and something to fix the slayer pro problem. Also make it so that if two map/gametypes are voted even it picks random instead of just picking the top one!!!!!!!

Freedom isnt Free

removing the scorpion from hemmoradge was a big mistake , i know there were complaints it was over powered , but if any thing it was greatly under powered it could only move 25mph at the most , and not being able to get out wile boarded is terrible , if somone climbed on my tank hatch id blow their brains out, and if its 500 years in the future i would expect the scorpion to be more effective the modern M1A2 Abrams tank can go almost 60mph and climb 65% grade hills with ease also has a 120mm gun compared to the 90mm of the scorpion.
((For being set 500 years in the future the human tech is like prehistoric caveman compared to what the US has today))

The New Playlist is Awsome. The addition of team SWAT really make it the Official REACH game mode. For Some the DMR was a mistake and I think you just create the Game play Where People haters like Lovers Will apreciate the New Riffle.I know it's not new Stuff I mean When You see over 500post The overall Opinon are Almost all same.WellDone For Now, The game Is Young Many things Coming I thought Zombies Would Come With October, you know Halloween :D!!CandY!! But I guess its not For Now!! Cant Wait was a game mode that I really Enjoy.
