Just thoughts:

It has always been my dream to design, concept sketch, whateveryou'dcallit et cetera for a video game um... company?

Er... yeah, aside from my limited vocabulary and scatter-brained-ness: just hearing that Bungie, my favorite of them all | kick Square's er... square ass any day... |, is offering job positions?! Art-related too?!

You know, that little feeling something like- Spaz/twitch/spontaneous combustion/Ohmefugursokidding!!11!

Yes, that's the one.

But see, as excited and simply euphoric the feeling is, mere seconds later it dives to the polar opposite of despair, anguish, and feeling the need to end it all.
My problem is as this- Nobody has time to waste on sixteen year young teenagers. Especially not a sixteen-going on seventeen- female.

Teenagers don't know anything. Especially not girls, heaven forbid. They have no talent and are only interested in boys, pink, and cell phones.

Don't get me wrong, I love my baby to pieces, he's so wonderful... yes you are... -cradles and pets a verizon flip-phone lovingly-

Er, yeah- I apologize. Off topic.

I understand it is also because I've little experience in burger-joint jobs. Instead I spend my time out at the mall, in the park, at the zoo- places with live movement to better improve my knowledge of anatomy and kinesthetics.

And of course XBox Live- Halo 2.

So anyway, I honestly forgot the original intent of this message besides pouting that I'm far too young to get a job at the best place in the world. But that is okay, because this only further fuels my ambition to practice until perfection and get accepted at a video game developer | that's the word |, and hope above all it would be Bungie.

.... Cause then I probably would explode. And then I could get buried with the fifty bucks I'd get from winning that bet...

And those are my thoughts.

I'm going to be taking the Portland (Oregon) Art Institute's four year course for Game Design, and I'm wondering if you guys hire right out of college, or if you would even consider someone who graduates from that course. Its going to cover everything I need to know to make video-games.

I also have extensive experience in creating scripts, writing stories, art, and designing, and would really love a position where I could help in all of those fields.

I currently have a hobby of editing book drafts for many of my friends, and helping them create more detailed and realistic characters and histories for their worlds. So far everyone I've worked with has been very impressed with what I can help them with.

If there's any way to contact you guy's, and be able to discuss things, that'd be really great.

Thank you.

Please post a little more information bungie, thanks.

Will bungie still be hiring in say...6 years?

  • 10.19.2005 6:27 PM PDT

Get Ghost.

You guys wouldn't happen to have any internships or anything of the sort for people who happen to still be high school, would you?

it does bring up an interesting question - those people lacking the skills - or age - to currently work for bungie... what place have they in your new world order?

Hmm..

I'm not applying, but i'm just wondering what the average Bungie employee's hours are like?

How many hours before OT?

Average hours per week?

Average hours per week during crunch time?

I've read that those in the gaming industry work an insane amount of hours. I bet 40hrs per week is unheard of. But, its all worth it work for project you love.

Lookin’ at the jobs descriptions, I fit in many openings.

Senior programmer with 5 yrs xp
D.E.C in programming and BS in CS on the way (night classes, first part at UQAM, I’ll finish the rest at McGill)
brutal coding
crazy gamer
hard workin s.o.b.

Here’s the sad thing : c++ programming skills are freakin’ rusty. Thinking about it made me dream of my first job as a junior, but then I wake up and I’m surrounded by some stupid COBOL spaghetti code. I put myself in a foetal position and cry like a baby. Kids that’s what 5 years of mainframe systems do to you.

If Bungie should show some interest in this post, they should know that I shall start a french-canadian revolution with Michel (Bastien) and take over as many Bungie Dep. as we can by throwing french fries, gravy and cheese at all our ennemies. That poutine invasion will be followed by forcing the Grizzled Ancients to eat some “Tourtiere du Lac-St-Jean” ten times a day, Old Skool to sing Celine Dion songs for a week and bring Middle School to the most craptastic strip joint in Quebec City : La Brousaille.

The Newbies shall be safe

Yep...that’s what 5 years of mainframe systems do to you.
