Ok, Halo 2 in 3 months...(Or some people 12 days...11/9 here) Still either one is still afar off. So lets get to the question.

We need something to hold us over correct???

So the great companys of JAVA, MACROMEDIA, (BLITZ BASIC) created software so we could create minigames of all the fun times we shared with anytype of game....

SO the question/begging/whining is... Could everyone help out a starved gamer(s) and give me and post for other people links (that work) to all kinds of halo spin off bungie goodness?????

Thankyou for reading this post

You know, those programs all suck. They're never going to get you anywhere. They work on a pre-developed graphics engine, and if you don't know scripting, you're not going to be able to do major things anyway. If you really want to consider the possibility of working in the industry, you should consider taking college classes about programming languages (choose one, there are a million. It all depends on what you want to do. If it's Website designing, html, php, java, and actionscript are for you. If it's internet games, C#, Java, and action script. If it's games for platforms, then C/C++.) But don't ever, ever go with those things. You'll waste your free time and end up very disappointed. Of course you could also consider being a designer. In that case again, either take a class, or buy books about it (or get them from the library). You could also practice making Halo art with Photoshop. It helps.

dual weildin freak... i think your missing the point... he didnt say, " program me a game" he said, "we need something to hold us over untill halo 2 comes out... use blah blah blah" making a good game with programming from pure code would take alot longer than 3 months...

Were you being sarcastic with that "Bungie Programming Language" thing? Because I'll have you know there is no such thing. Well, technically there might be, since when an Engine is developed, you could implement it anyway you like, and so it might a be a modified version of some other standard language. But if they did make their own language, it would most likely be game - dependent, which means that they recreate the language differently for every game (which is likely, if they start out of scratch). And, anyway, you can't "learn" that language unless you already work for Bungie. Which you don't. Look, if your goal is being a designer, maybe you should go with Blitz, because really it gives you an Engine, but you have to design the game. But if you want to do serious code programming, don't fall for that crap. Those programs are for little kids who are desperate to have their own games.

Yes, I know it would. But I thought he ment maybe he wants to learn so he could actually have a career. I know I'm already working on a first person shooter (graphics about as good as Goldeneye, but hey, it's a start).

Dual Weildin, I didn't want this to be a flamed post... "The lil kids desperate to have there own game" start then andwork on up to be like bungie and other such people...

"The Bungie Language" ----A joke, jeesh... I don't know what scripts Bungie uses, so i used that as a place holder... Use some context, we learned that in 2nd grade.

---Good luck on your Goldeneye thing, honestly i mean the best for you...But please don't flame every thread you don't like.... Just don't reply... The original question for this thread was and still is.....

Do you have any links for Halo type games?
