Subject: Halo Combat Evolved had the best.....

End game Warthog run. I think what helps that one compared to Halo 3's (which is still good in my opinion) is the layout. Instead of it being wide-open, Halo:CE's run is a very narrow path full of enemies, jumps and falls that are still pretty impressive.

Another thing that made the End Run so great was the fact that it wasn't always perfectly tailored to keep the warthog upright. That suspense of not knowing whether or not you were going to flip and have to shoot your way back to the warthog kept you on the edge of your seat. In 3 it's almost guaranteed that you'll stay in the warthog the through the entire sequence (barring any outrageously risky stunts)

Your 'beliefs' mean less than dick to me.

Best maps, campaign and multiplayer. Every campaign level is a blast to this day. All the multiplayer maps were strong (never played the PC ones though), unlike nowadays where it's roughly half-and-half between strong and weak. The only one that ever got dumb was Chiron, but only when everyone was camping. If people played it up front and honestly, it was every bit was as fun as the rest.

I really miss this if you couldn't tell already lol.

CE is the best Halo and is perfect in literally every way with these exceptions:
-No Xbox LIVE
-No wieldable sword
-Captain Keyes has the worst AI that he could possibly be programmed with... keeping him alive on solo Legendary on Truth and Reconciliation is so BLAM hard because he keeps running up to Covenant screaming 'Kill me! I want Master Chief to fail his mission! Kill me! Quickly! Do it now!' He is BLAM suicidal.

Other than those three issues, a truly perfect game. Best parts... too many to count. Pistols, all weapons, Blood Gulch, Chiron, vehicles, Hunters, all Covenant, flood that are actually somewhat difficult on Legendary (inside a dark misty building, can't see around corners, flood with shotguns... I think its 343 Guilty Spark), Legendary that's actually slightly challenging (and more than slightly on solo Truth and Reconciliation), Warthog Run, Storyline, Cortana...

I've played solo legendary on T&R so many times that it's probably my easiest level now. It's fun to see how many marines I can get up to the command center with me. And the Keyes thing really is true, he makes the grunts thing so much harder than it should be...

We really don't need a sword. The shotgun's more than enough.

Shotgun's enough to do the job, but sword is fun. I would agree that most parts of T&R are plenty easy (I've played it twice on solo Legendary), including the hangar with the hunters that people complain about... it's really not that hard. But other than Keyes, the main reason I say it's a hard level is because of the room as soon as you board the T&R with waves of Zealots constantly coming. There's likely an easy method, but having only done it twice I haven't perfected it. However with Keyes I've found that staying right at the door rather than running into the middle will make him stay there as well and prevent Covenant from coming out that door.

Yup, there is. You'll get one of four different types of groups coming through a given door, all at random. Zealot/jackals (maybe grunts too), zealot/grunts, jackals/grunts, or just grunts.

First thing, you HAVE to take down the first invisible elite when he comes in the room. Otherwise he'll still be running around when the waves start coming in and you don't want that.

You'll see the red dots on your motion tracker for a little instant beforehand, so you know which door to rush and camp. They also flash when they open (duh), so you can see it open and toss a grenade in if you're too far away.

Anytime you see a zealot, immediately hit him with a plasma pistol charge shot, and then snipe him until he's dead. If jackals came through the door with him, frag grenade. If it's grunts, plasma or fight them off with your plasma pistol. You only have 4 frags so you have to use them wisely and make sure the placement is good (although dead marines could provide some more).

You gotta be quick with each wave, because the next wave won't wait for you to finish off the current one. It's all preset. Drag your heels and you'll get run over pretty quickly. It can be a workout but it's very do-able when you get the feel of it. :)

All in all. They need to make Halo: CE 2. Like, a re-make but with a lot more maps and weapons and more campaign levels, etc. Having the armor abilities from Halo Reach would be awesome too. Well maybe just the Sprint and Jetpack ones. *Nods* Yeah, just them two

Protagonist. I mean, seriously Halo was all about a lone hero and the last chance to save humanity. Halo 2 had to share ths spotlight with the arbiter. H3 you had the arbiter and two more slimey elites who could shoulder Master Chief's burden.
Even REACH isn't really about a lone hero. You end up sharing screen time with indestractable allies if you play solo or your equals if in co-op.

I was thinking more along the lines of hanging back until the platforms start falling behind you or ditching Arby and going solo on the mongoose (seriously, mongoose physics and final sequence DO. NOT. MIX.) but that's an excellent suggestion, I'll have to try it sometime ;)

The best event in the Halo series was the grunt rebellion!

Listen to some of this on, this site.

Halo CE gives you the biggest levels to explore. SOOOO many things to see. Makes me wanna play it now... *Sniff*
