You have to remember that for the average person (here), Super Mario Bros. 3 came out when they were in diapers or just a twinkle in their dad's eye; NES to many people is what 8-tracks were to those a little bit older. I always thought Super Mario 2 was a bigger leap forward compared to the original than 3 was to 2. Then again, it may just have been that I almost had to fight some old guy as a kid for the last SM2 on the shelf.
As for the topic, it will be the game of the decade, for sure. If it's not, who cares... that only means something else even better has to come out, and won't you want to play a game that's actually BETTER than Halo 2?
