One type that you generally can't go wrong with is:

Slayer, 50% health, no shields, shotguns.

On small maps with reasonable openness, it drastically reduces the negative impacts that a few types suffer from as a result of having only one screen.

I write poetry, I write short-stories, I listen to hip-hop (80s&90s), Reggae, Classic Rock n Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues, and the 60s, 70s.

Start with Human weapons and human weapons only, no motion tracker, no shields, and take your pistol out as soon as you spawn. That equals SWAT for Halo 1, best for Hang 'em High and Prisoner.Always fun with 2 to 4 players.

I like to do an Oddball Juggernaut where the Juggernaut gets camo and no motion tracker, and the rest get motion trackers. Set weapons to all plasma, no starting grenades, and default shields and health. No powerups on map. Works well with Rat Race, also alright with Beaver Creek. Can't remember the name of the one it goes best with though. Use only small maps for it.

Also, try Slayer with highest health, no shields, Rocket Launchers and Scorpions on Sidewinder. Very loud, but fun.
