In halo 2 you can shoot off the hub caps, but dont they hold gas in the tire or something? i would think that it would create an explosion capable of flipping the warthog and ejecting all players inside leaving them for you to slaughter.

I don't think the hog respawns so if that the case then no.

well it should blow up, maybe take a few shots, but should. i think it said it in that one warthog review they had on the site, even tho it was civilian, i assume its the same in the tires. it looks like there a cap for fuel.

technically yes they should but they dont...oh well games can't be 100% realistic...

  • 08.12.2004 5:54 PM PDT

Tires dont explode. they pop.

I've also read that the damage on Hogs isn't case specific, meaning while you can shoot off the hubcap of a tire, you cant shoot off just the tire, the whole side gets damaged. And it's still driveable

ok. but MC's armor is very strong but can still be penetrated. so i assume(there it is again, assume) that a metal plated fuel tank/hubcap could go with a few well placed shots.

it would still be drivable in the game, but it should flip or something. and do a little damge to players and hog,or just hog

The tires on the civilian hog are radically different. Big rubber tires.

The tires on the reg hog are small and plated. Plus its the future, I think they could easily solve such a problematic flaw in their main vehicle.

Think how crappy the warthog would be if you could just pop the tires. Any battle you got in with it, everyone would just aim for the tires and they'd be gone in seconds...leaving you with a worthless hog. And that would take a lot of fun out of warthog battles. Maybe if they took 4-5 well placed shots.....maybe.

Gas in the tire? what the hell? The only gas in the tire is the gas in the air we breathe.

Anyone else looking forward to knocking off the guard to a Scorpion's gas tank and sniping the beast into little bits?

The German mag said the Scorpion was NOT destructible, but I believe that was either only because it was the Beta and unfinished or because maybe the Scorpion can only be destroyed by uncovering the gas tank and blowing it up

The same guy also said there was no falling damage, most likely because it was just a beta

the gas isnt in the tire, theres a tank in the hubcap. look at a pic of the hog, youll see it. the review of the civilian hog said they had one, and the tires look the same.

A tank of what? In the tires?

Hmm...I don't know what you're talking about. If you are insinuating that's theres gasoline in the wheel (or in any of the vehicles for that matter) I highly doubt that. First, there's no way we'll still be using fossil fuels in 500 years. Second, why would they store it in the tires??

YES>If I get kicked off I will be pretty pissed and it would be funny getting the person back by breaking the hog rendering it useless

it said they hold fuel (not sure if its flamable or not) in the civilian review and the tires look the same. and i think they would do it for extra sorage, not to go directly in the fuel tank in the hog.

Nothing better than shooting out a guys tire whiles he's trying to ram you and watching him swerve to the side and crash.

i think it should at least spew out the fuel or something, that would be an awesome effect. and the hog would lose traction in it.

shoot the tank, let it spew fuel, create a huge trail of fuel, leave the hog in the open, wait for someone to get in, the light the fuel from a distance and watch them go up in flames as the hog explodes!!!

The Hogs respawn. Also, Gas in the tire? What? I don't get why there'd be gas in the tire, other than oxygen.
