"Second: We had some ideas on cool ways to lift it via communal effort."
You could not be more wrong. Whatever your idea is, kindly take it off the pedestal you are all worshiping and shove it up your ass. You really are waiting for everyone to rank up to major or lt. colonel to lift the cap aren't you?
The "next month or two" What difference does it make since my credits still count? There is no reason for this level cap besides trying to string out the replay value. We all know this is your swan song for Halo. The playing community will drop within that next 10 months anyway.
Yes there will be a boost at Christmas but not a huge one, that's just the kids that can't buy it on their own anyway and shouldn't be playing this M Rated game in the first place.
I understand how you don't want people ranking up all the way within the first couple months but that wont happen anyway Bungie. Why not you may ask. Well maybe it's due to the fact that you need 20,000,000 cR TO GET TO THE HIGHEST RANK. That will take months with the daily cap in place. People who want to rank up will and will keep playing as long as the game is interesting. But placing a cap is not interesting, it's downright boring. Do you want everyone to buy Inclement Weather before you'll lift it?
Believe me, I'm a Halo fanatic. I've played Halo 3 just as much as the rest of you, and I plan on making it up to Inheritor someday. It's just sad that Bungie is trading their fans for replay value. You say most of the people are Warrant Officer and below? Yes that's the other 700,000 people that bought the game and only play an hour a night. It's true you can't please everyone, but you're pleasing yourself first and shunning the rest.
But what am I gonna do? You'll change the playlist sure. What about the real reason we all play this game? In the real world if you are stunk in a rank and deserve to be promoted it's called bureaucracy. If that is what you want your legacy to be Bungie, by all means...
