There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.
Here's an idea...you can take it for what it's worth. If bungie is concerned with the leaderboards becoming laden with the likes of cheaters so that they can see the frutility of their cheating, why not take it a step further. Why not stop showing what rank you are when you play matchmaking. OF course Bungie, XBOX live, and HALO2 online matchmaking should continue to keep track to better match equal players, but what would it hurt? Since Bungie themselves said that the key point of the ranking system is to put like-skilled players against each other. I'm a 28, big deal....does being a 28 make me good at HALO2? I think that I am decent at the game, not because it says 28 next to my name when I play, but because I play at a decent level. One of my biggest annoyances is when I hear the people that I am teammates with say "oh we can't win because the other team's ranks are 30's/40's whatever" You should play the game, and let the outcome tell you how good or bad someone is at a game. I can recall countless games played in team training or team sniper, and afterwards someone saying..."I could have pwned all of you 'cause I'm a level 44" My point is, even when Bungie does away with the leaderboards, which they already have, people will still cheat, mod, and boost so that the little number next to their gamertag will be a high one. And then they will play team training and tell everyone that they can "pwn" them because they at a level 44. Take it or leave it...
