maybe the rebels thought that since MC needed help that earth would be easily destroyed and not send people to attack them and they were probably right

Seriously this would be the dumbest act of humanity in the history of earth, galaxey, whatever, and thats pretty bad.

Hey look this uber alien who won't stop but hunt down all humans is attacking earth, the last real defense of humanity against these creatures. Lets attack earth too!!! Yeah then when earth is gone and no one is there to protect us from the covies they can come kill us too!!

Seriously this is just dumb.

EDIT: This is not to mention that rebels your talking about already helped the UNSC because they don't want trouble with the covies either, so why would they change their minds. Not only that but it doesn't profit them to have humans wiped out, they sell things remember!? Oh and another problem the rebel ships are crap. They have no power whatsoever not to mention they couldn't get close to earth with the covie fleet. Oh and another thing the rebels don't even have any nukes left, it was a bluff in the book. This theory you two have has so many holes you really need to think up something else.

if its so dumb, then -blam!- dont read! its speculation! .. i see your point, but you never know.. humans are stupid sometimes.. and like i said, maybe its NOT humans.. so if youve been reading all of this, you should have seen that i said that

So wait, because your speculating that means you can't accept criticism as to why it won't work? Any good theory has to stand up to criticism so what it sounds like your asking is to live in a dream world where you can't be challenged. Seriously if you can't accept criticism better not to make any theories.

like i said, i havent read the books.. all i see is that they would be great places to launch a nuclear attack.. im not saying the covies have anything to do with it.. besides... theres still the countdown to Wide Awake And Physical which people seem to have their minds set on that its when the magazines are gonna come out..(which i know its true, but maybe thats not what wide awake and physical is) but you never know.. no one knows.. 0.o but bungie i guess.. maybe it has nothing to do with the countdown.. maybe its there for something else.. like i said before, this is why we talk about it

im saying that it doesnt need to be as pissed as youre making it.. you act like everyone knows everything about halo 2.. maybe some people dont? you seem to hate this so much, then why bother? let the people who will critisize critisize, but i just think its stupid to use anger along with it.. would you not agree? (maybe you wouldnt..)

Hmm they also were likely wiped out by the covies. Remember Whitcom (I believe was his name) n company fled the area and left them to fend for them selves. Since Halo 2 takes place likely 2 days after the events of First Strike I really see no way in hell they could aquire new nukes which they couldn't aquire over years before. Remember the trip to Earth at the end is supposed to be 36 hours or so and if the teaser trailer is accurate the coives are there when MC arrives. That means that the rebels would have two days to aqquire nukes and attack earth. Don't think its happening.

listen.. if it makes anyone feel better, take the parts of the idea that make sence, and tell your own version of it! take the credit! i dont care.. im just trying to help people out with figuring this thing out, but obviously people are so much smarter than me, so they would most likely do a better job.. and yes, i was talking to aluris. or whatever

Hmm maybe me saying "seriously this is just dumb" was too harsh, but everything else I said was pretty straightforward and just pointed out why this wont work. Sorry you took offense to it.

another thing.. i dont think it has to stand up to any critisizm... its there for the ideas, not the proof.. no one here is trying to PROVE anything.. just theories

^^ agrees

well maybe they allied with the covies and showed them how to effectively hack into the nukes and position them for the most damage i dont think covies have nukes but there are nukes on the surface of earth and maybe the covies used the info they got from the rebels to use them

like alerus said though.. the covies will peobably try to kill us all.. so i dont know if that one would work... maybe they got the info off the internet, then STOLE the nukes? its possible

I would say thats highly unlikely. The Covies see all humans as unworthy infidels (isn't that actually the exact translation for what they call humans?). They are also extremely arrogant and don't see humans as any threat at all. Once again why would the rebels sell earth out, it serves them no purpouse to help an enemy that will kill them in the end. They know that.

EDIT: Apparently I can't say cocky. I've changed it to arrogant

yeah i agree with the internet being replaced... but there has to be some form of it.. maybe some public computer stations that people can go to for information regarding the past and such.. you know? like on Demolition Man

it seems to me like were posting these things too rapidly.. heh... alerus is replying to something that we already descussed.. maybe we should slow down? also.. let OTHER people have their say.. lol (just a suggestion.. im fine with this pace, heh.. keeps the mind working, and the ideas fresh)

in the flood the covenant use humans to fly a dropship and get the humans to give HQ the humans a code to get into the humans HQ and kill them why not do so with the rebels...i mean if we knew something that could help the covenant they would get the info then kill us.

PS not all covies hate humans one grunt (yeah only one grunt but it still counts) Yapyap saw that it might be better among the humans and sort of liked them maybe other covies will see that as well
