i haven't visited here for a while, so if this has been discussed, don't flame me.
anyway- from what i've just discovered, the white button is no longer for your light... as in... there is no light (?) and is now for teamspeak....
....my question/comment is: if there is no 'flashlight', then why would you want to shoot the lights out during combat? I know if you are wandering in the dark with a light you are cannon fodder- but how are you going to see your enemies? will you rely solely on infrared w/ your scope or something? will your visor/hud 'adjust' (if so, why shoot lights out?).....
.....lastly, just maybe... there will be enough light to see your enemies if you look hard enough (like finding a cloaked enemy).
i just bring this up because i remember reading about shooting out lights way back- and wondered how a mp match would be fought in the dark- the tactics changing rapidly using your light to find enemies while trying not to give everybody a juicy target.
bungie knows what they are doing i'm sure- but i'm a little confused.

Yes, you could use the flashlight if there was four or less people.

In Halo 1 there wasnt a flashlight in Mp anyways. and in co-op you dont need to have team chat because everybody will be on your team. so there will be a flashlight in the campain but there STILL not be a flashlight in MP

firstly- i thought one could use the flashlights in mp, only over 4 players you couldn't.

secondly- i know in sp the other guy is on your team... BUT- n o w we can play single player co-op on two xboxes (so i understand)... so... if that's the case, you'll use team chat if you are playing co-op over xbc or LIVE and you'll want team chat.

thirdly- i just guess the flashlight is out, and if you shoot lights out, it'll be like playing in the darker areas of, say, 'ratrace' or something. i guess shooting lights out will just give you a better chance of sliping by undetected by some- it wouldn't help you so much in an assault, unless you like getting into a firefight in the dark (and... would flashbang affects last a little longer against enemies who are now in the dark? hmmm...)

thanks for your thoughts.

wasn't that info from a german mag? I don't think that mag was truthful. It gave us a lot of "new" inngo but why would germany get it first and why were they the only ones to get it. It makes since but i think that was made up. I've been gone since monday so if it was confirmed from then to now please don't flame.

Correct

The team chat is to switch between proximity voice and talking over radio to your team. In SP there is no need to not have your radio on all the time so you don't need to press a button to talk to the other player. Talking will be automatic. If you want to mute your mic use the button on the communicator.

thirdly- i just guess the flashlight is out, and if you shoot lights out, it'll be like playing in the darker areas of, say, 'ratrace' or something. i guess shooting lights out will just give you a better chance of sliping by undetected by some- it wouldn't help you so much in an assault, unless you like getting into a firefight in the dark (and... would flashbang affects last a little longer against enemies who are now in the dark? hmmm...)
The flashligt is still in SP most likely. There are no flashbangs in Halo 2. The frag grenades now have stunning effects.

bungie hasnt confirmed any of that beta info yet.. there are a ton of questions about that article
like....
why is germany playing the beta first?
isnt there a nondisclosure act they have to sign and therefore not release any info on the beta?
i really think that writeup is all bull-blam!- and everyone needs to stop believing everything they hear
