Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

I use Windows XP.
Is it possible I could play Halo 2 online with my PC? I have a tag on the front of my PC that says "Vista Basic." I still have that "XP" look on my PC, though.

So, is it possible to play?

My computer says I have a:
OS: Windows XP Build 2600 Service Pack 3

you need a 3rd party patch, yet you still can't play online.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It's not possible to play with XP. Upgrade to 7. And if you go to high school, you can get the server edition of vista or 7 free via dreamspark and then install h2v on that.

My Youtube - Halo 2 Online Co-op
BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Halo 2 Vista was a failed attempt to make people buy into Windows Vista OS just to play a crap ported game.

So, you are best getting Windows 7 for free like JacobGRocks says.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

I like how you slipped the 5-finger discount in there. :P

Crap ported game. Word.

Is it possible to buy a Windows 7 package? I don't want to buy a entire PC all over again.

Yes. You can't direct upgrade from XP though.

Here you go, make sure you get a system builder's OEM

The difference between the OEM and a retail copy is price. Since you can't save your files when going from XP to 7 anyway, you might as well use the OEM anyway.

Save all your pictures and non-recoverable files to a flash drive or an external hard drive before installing it.
