Well, there is quite a few people who want to have there own avatars, and won't stop talking about it. I say, let's do it,heres the system:

There would be a Avatar creation form at the Avatr page, you would click the link, and you would be brought up to the submission form. You can upload from your machine, a url, or offsite url. Also mind you that this isnt where you submit public avatas, just for you. you would be able to change its size on the next step, so its not to large. Third, the submission should be able to go on a custom page for all the Them Masters, where they approve avatars.

That's all i can think off now, any add on ideas or comments?

Sorry, but this is never going to happen. There would be way too many people creating avatars that are inappropriate, and having someone sort through all of them is not the way to go. Custom avatars will only be awarded to people who earn them.

*Edit* I was going to make a comment about Toast's avatar, and then I thought better of it.

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

Only the paranoid will survive!

People will abuse it. Red vs Blue doesn't have the kind of hate Bungie has, sad to say. Some people over-hyped Halo. But it will never work. And I'm glad.

It would be cool if you could sort of design an avatar from preset pics and backgrounds like in Halo2, except that the presets would be more related to bungie in general.

There's a huge difference between pictures and words. Avatars are very hard not to look at.

Dude, i said ALL them masters, not one liked pyced or something, it would work, we might need more theme masters. If we can get the theme masters to sort throgh which are apropriate, it would work.

The reason people don't lke my ideas, is becuase they did not understand what I just said.

I'm not sure if you knew this, but the Theme Masters are real people. They can't sit around all day and approve avatars. They'd, most likely, rather be doing something else instead.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Not to mention that there are only only 5 of them (Psyched, Sir Fragula, akba, mrsmiley and gruntsbane).

It would add too much of a burden on a moderating team that is already overworked. I also would much rather not have a custom avatar than wondering whether I will see tub girl or goatse in somebody's avatar when I click the topic (and I'm sure I would see it occasionally too. And nothing is worth the risk of seeing tub girl.). So no, that will never happen. However, custom avatars will probably be a reward in the upcoming Karma system.

Odds are it’ll never happen. Bungie.net has a rather immature base of people that would spoil it for everyone else. So to avoid the catastrophe that would ensue, it’s best to just stick with our current system… though it would be nice if they updated the avatars for ya guys.

Yeah, I think a better idea would be for someone to approve avataras more often.

I've still to send mine in. I should just forget about the moving .gifs and go ahead with it.

I hope you’re not implying that the Moderators get that duty. = O

Ya, I think i'm just suffering from no new avatar fever, which I have had since Shishka submitted his Grunt avatar.

We need more in, like, alot. I could send in a few when I get my scanner up.

The difference between the RvB and B.Net communities is that B.Net is full of immature 11-year old fools who would think it amazingly funny to use -blam!- as their avatar.

But. the Karma system in RvB sorts the few kids who do it there, they just get flambatied to about -20, which brings them to the attention of the mods, who then ban them. With the rumoured introduction of a karma system into B.Net, cutsom avatars could be integrated, say, people with +50 karma would be allowed to submit a custom avatar for approval from a team of trusted members of the community.

If pimpy = p0rn then NO and you know why.

If you didn't know then thats what some people get the two confused. So custom Avatars don't happen.

The way I see it is this. If you put a piece of blu-tak/putty infront of a kid and then go out for a few hours, chances are they won't touch it (too busy playing games!). But if you/their parents say to them "DON'T POKE THE PUTTY WHILE WE'RE OUT", then I'd bet that the morbid temptation would be so great, they'd poke it. It's the same here. If people were allowed to have their own avatars, there would be some that used unacceptable pictures, but the majority would actually just use good, clean ones. I believe that it is because such a big deal is made out of the issue, then it's no wonder these kids would use a pair of breasts or somesuch as there pic! If people are given a chance to do this, I bet after a month or 2 things would be cool. (I'd like to use Team Xbox Forums as an example here. 700+ people on them boards everyday, and I've never seen one avatar that I'd say is explicit or bad in any-way).

If the attitude was different around here, things would be much better for everyone. Bossing people around instigates them to rebel (and I'll use history as my support for this).

EDIT: Quoting Yoozel has probably made it look like I'm using him as an example of this 'bossing around'. I apologise if it seems like that (he's actually one of only a couple of the mods I respect, thus I corpse-hump him anytime I end up in the same game as him) ;)
