Hi, I've only played the campaign of Halo 2 before, which I thought was very fun, but I'm wondering how the multiplayer was, as I sadly never got to play it. And yes, I'm aware that it was taken off the servers last April, I think.

MP - most fun in gameing history ever!!!

I've heard that the maps were really good too. Too bad a few of the maps in Reach are really poor, and though I haven't seen the maps from every Halo game, apparently they are at an all-time low now.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

It is hard to grasp the full greatness of the multiplayer without first playing Halo 2 during it's popular time on Xbox Live.

It was the pinnacle of my gaming career. Pure magic.

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

The game play in Halo 2 was very fast, but not quite "chaotic." A good player could easily take down two opponents at once using just their own skill. Good players stuck out above and beyond the rest of the team, and could easily turn a game around.

It was just... well... it's...

It was sooo good.

R.I.P. Halo 2 11/9/04-4/15/10
If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

Halo 2 is a game that was made by a god. The god said once you have played Halo 2 online, you have seen heaven.

It really was that good. I spent my entire summers just playing Halo 2.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

It was pretty fun and chaotic. People also loved to superbounce and take the online matches to the next level, by going off the map and duking it out outside the map. I have had more fun playing online on halo 2, then any other game that has came out after halo 2. That game was crack, it was far too addicting and fun. You could not resist the temptation to play it.

99% of the HALO 2 gaming population doesn't have a hearing problem, if you're part of the 1% who does, post this in your sig.

Maps were the best in gaming history! LOCKOUT!
It was possible to take on a whole team even with just your BR.
Difficult to do in H3 and almost impossible to do in Reach.
I am loving reach though :p

So why did they take all the Xbox originals off the servers? I heard it was to increase the amount of friends you could have on XBL from 100, or to make room for the Halo Reach Beta, but I'm not sure.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

It was amazing until the cheaters conquered the game. The first Halo and Halo 2 have the best multiplayer experiences, after them it all went downhill; Halo 3 entertained me for a long time, until it bored me, ODST felt like a waste of time and I didn't even bothered with buying Reach.

I remember getting stressed, mad, desperate, happy, excited and euphoric over Halo 2 so many times; sweaty hands when a Slayer match's score was 49-49, anger when matched with modders, feeling like a king when saving the game and using amazing strategies and tactics when playing a Capture the Flag game or anything in the "Team Skirmish" playlist, back when Territories was actually fun to play. (I still don't understand why Bungie changed this gametype and Assault in Halo 3)

Chaos on Big Team Battle, hardcoreness and tight matches in Team Hardcore, long exciting matches in Team Snipers, and after beating the other team the trashtalking in the post-game lobby, I would always tell them to go back to "Training" referring to the Team Training playlist.

Good 'ole times.

If you couldn't get a legit 50 in H3 then you suck so bad You're opinion is null to me.

If you think my Reach K/D is bad, it's because I play the one playlist that requires 2 hands to win in.

If you think you're better than me, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 me. And we'll see what happens ;).

but this is all you need to know about me

It was magical. Custom games were a completely new game in itself. Troy, infection, michael jackson, cat and mouse, eagle and mouse, boxing, tower of power, hide n seek, cops and robbers. The list goes on and on. Not to mention the countless hours just playing lockout and enjoying testing my bxr and quadshot against others. I remember we would play for hours on lockout and nobody would really talk much because every aspect of the game was so riveting all you wanted to do was play. Matchmaking was great to, the only downfall to this game however is that bungie didn't root out cheaters as well as they should have. Which really isn't even halo 2's fault. It was a great time and I miss it dearly.

This is also a great game because it was the age of leaders. A single person could reak havoc on an opposing team with nothing but his B.R. It was incredible to see just how good people were in this game, forget leaders this was the game of LEGENDS!

Multiplayer was a lot of fun for the most part. Every so often though you would come across some hacker/modder that would kinda wreck it for everyone that wasn't on their team. Still it didn't seem to be happening as often as it does now. I think the worst thing about it was when people would standby. Aside from that it was a lot of fun, and the reason I got xbox live.

Major C.B.

I only got the privilege to play 33 games total, as I got Xbox Live on a dial-up connection in July 2007, and so could only play at certain ideal times (when nobody was using the phone or internet). I upgraded to a better internet in September 2007 for Halo 3, and was mostly a Halo 3 boy online. However, most of those 33 games I got to play on Halo 2... They were amazing.

Indeed.

Also, I just noticed that you are Reptilian Rob. Do you remember me from The Venerated Elite?

All it took was a stew of whoopass.

Very fun, though I never played it online when it was at its most popular. I still wish I got a BTB game on Coagulation in, but oh well.

I don't think any other game can ever top my memories I had from Halo 2. The reason I got Xbox and Live and playing 5 hours a day without ever getting bored.

Halo 2 for Life!

No Mp can match it to this day. Every time you sat down to play it you enjoyed conversations with people all around the world and skill from all around the world.

Working as a team with people from such diverse backgrounds was enjoyment at it's finest.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Why do you keep bumping dead threads?

Haha, I made this thread, yet I have to agree with you that this thread should be dead still.
