If there is a Halo ODST 2 when should it take place. I think before Halo 3 and After Halo 3 as well.

sorry, but i don't think a Halo: ODST 2 is going to be coming to any gaming system. Halo: ODST in the eyes of many people seemed to be a waste. The only good thing about it was that it had vidmaster achievments in it. but still, noone seemed to play it, even when it first came out. It didnt have a memorable storyline, and seemed to be a add on of halo 3. To make everything worse, there was no multiplayer matchmaking included, but the "mithic" disk was included from halo 3, giving you halo 3 matchmaking, and all map packs. To sum it all up, the firefight achievments were torture to get. The covenent were over-powered, and it was just not fun. I think that Halo: ODST was a good idea, it just never went the right way, the way that bungie intended. If it would show more of the life of a ODST, or somthing to that nature, meybe it would have been more popular. But the game had nothing to do with helping in the war on new mambasa. It just seemed to me like a love story, a story that was not worth telling. The ODST achieved nothing on new mambasa in my eyes, and Halo: ODST was a story that was best left untold.

I do agree ODST wasn't so great.

Recon armor was not gifted or bestowed upon me. I earned it through blood, sweat, and tears. Road to Recon complete, on to the next challenge. Halo 3: 1750/1750, ODST: 1000/1000, Reach: 1400/1400.

It took me a while to get into ODST but I do like it a lot and would like to see another. Since the war is more or less over after Halo 3 I can only imagine a prequel. Halo Reach: ODST.

There were a lot of cool concepts in ODST:
-playing as someone who's not a Spartan, and who in fact soils his pants at the first sight of a Brute
-the time looping thing
-the overworld (a good idea that went to waste)
-the survival-horror aspect
-the Silenced SMG
-the VISR system; being able to set map waypoints was another cool idea that went to waste

I think they should make another Halo spinoff game.

In fact, I think ODST would have been better as a short $20 expansion pack than a full game.

how would it make sense for them to fight on reach before the covenant were there there was no one to fight or drop in on apart from the hungarian farmers...

Think before you post

I made a suggestion for the plot here but it kinda died, i suggested it took place after halo3 and was about taking out the covenant leftovers, but you should still check out the post

A Halo Reach: ODST set during the campaign of Halo Reach would be fun. Sort of working along side Noble Team at times or at least on missions that link in with the storyline. Diverting the Covenant's attention on a mission so that Noble Team could complete theirs etc.

Well buck and half his team were at Reach during the evacuation of New Alexandra... so a ODST:Reach, wouldn't be that far fetched. You could easily bring back Buck, Dutch, Romeo and Dare (Rookie and Mickey were replacements for dead teammates) and have a prequel storyline there too.

I enjoyed ODST, it was different and after playing it for the first time after Reach, it was very, VERY reach-ish in terms of gameplay, probably because both games were developed together.

But I definitely agree on the "It should have been an expansion", making ODST a DLC or something similar while integrating the Firefight into Halo 3 would have been the smarter route.

Yeah, fair point. Or should have been half the price.

If anything, there should be a Halo CE:ODST. If any of you have ever read Halo: The Flood, there is a HUGE side story about the ODSTS and marines that regroup on Halo. They could totally make the story into a game, and include cameo appearances of Master Chief and Captain Keyes. It would be epic.

This is true. Can you imagine taking over the Truth and Reconciliation as an ODST?

It would be awesome! Also, the mission in the book where the ODSTs try and reclaim The Pillar of Autumn. That mission would be fun. I also think that fighting alongside Master Chief in a few missions would be fun. Not all of them, but maybe here and there, watching him take out Elite after Elite.

Rather than see Bungie take the time to make another game like this, I'd rather see them put time and effort into developing a full game that's not Halo related. Then, we'll get a game where you're not a Spartan, AND there won't be concerns about it being a glorified expansion which was definitely used by M$ to keep the Halo population happy and paying between Halo 3 and Reach.

I liked ODST, I just wish it oould have been what Bungie originally intended, an expansion.

I found Halo ODST very refreshing. It was different not playing as a spartan and reminded me how f-ing leet they are. The only thing that disturbed me was how come there wasn't any firefight matchmaking. I know it would take alot making it because of lag issues and betrayal system ect., but would have found it alot more enjoyable if there was matchmaking.

I really enjoyed ODST. The storyline was interesting, Firefight was a huge win, return of pistol with zoom capability, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sequel to ODST, because of the way they ended the campaign. That cliffhanger was just screaming for a sequel.
