Or you could do the trick mentioned in the guide. Guaranteed to get one every 20 seconds vs. every ~5 minutes with chance of failure.

if its not been suggested (sorry if it has, not reading through 14 pages for something specific) might i suggest nightfall for demon and flawless cowboy?

if you can speed run the level, you can set up the boost in 6 - 7 minutes, and the level loads faster upon each restart

What are you talking about? Scythe is just suggesting Nightfall as it only takes 5-7 minutes if you rush to complete and THEN use the cut scene glitch. Much faster than the 10+ minutes to complete WC.

Taking the idea from Small Arms I used that same checkpoint for Nice Arm and got myself in a position to get an Overkill within .5second after the checkpoint. With proper reverting I got from Gold (4000kills) to Gold (6000approx) in about 15-20 minutes of actual game time meaning about 25-40 minutes real time.

It increases infantry to specialist and specialist to leaders..not everything becomes leaders.

Does anybody know why I'm killing 100's of Grunt Hero's yet only some are counting towards Leadership Element.

  • 12.19.2010 1:04 AM PDT

I thought all grunts were infantry, all jackals/brutes/skirmishers were specialist, and all elites were leaders, except in unique cases with particularly powerful brutes and elites being heroes.

Even though they classify different enemies of the same species, the commendations seem to classify them more simply.

I have the same problem. Also I got leadership to gold today by killing the elite on nightfall at the start with a headshot. It works pretty quick.

I found a method to quickly boost up precisely and pinpoint, its a method that gets 3 to 4 kills each game second, but only 1 kill per revert.

on Nightfall, start at rally point bravo (the part where you face the pylon) and proceed along the trail. Jun will talk to Kat about the pylon, the conversation will start something like this "enemy structure, kind of a big pylon, heavily fortified..." and Kat will confirm this to Jun. While they are talking over the comms, make your way along the ridge and face the bridge of sleeping grunts and the elite, there should be 4 grunts. Aim your sniper at one of the sleeping grunts and simply wait for Jun and Kat to stop talking, once they shut up, you will get a checkpoint- if you did this right, you should have a grunt right in your sights when you get the checkpoint, allowing you to shoot it. Revert, then immediatly shoot the grunt again to your hearts (or commendations) content.

difficulty - normal (any, but normal advised)
commendations - precisely/pinpoint
speed - one shot per revert, approx 4 shots and reverts per in-game second
mission - nightfall

video - link to the file on fileshare

video is not rendered, if someone is willing and has minuites, please render it for me :)

Oh my god, boosting Super Soldier was rediculously boring. 7 hours of target locator. Now working on Small arms/ Standard issue which seem to be less tedious.

Thanks Butterz for the guide, very helpful.

Ouch..I managed to get it so that the first missile got me 17-18 kills and the 2nd missile got me another 4 so that I got a killing frenzy from 2 missiles then revert.

I got a fairly bad strike, 17 kills max :(

It's definitely tricky to get the frenzy there.

Where can I find the focus rifle to get "precisely" up faster on The Package?

  • 12.23.2010 11:26 AM PDT

NON FACET NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERNǢUM

How about just do it regularly? Either way you get commendations, they won't help to rank up when it's 200k between General ranks. Commendation boosting add penalty points to your campaign score, so after all this boosting for them, you'll have a 2million plus penalty score. So when you look at your service record on Bungie, you will forever see the mark of shame. Just grind the game out, be patience.
