Well guys, that is the best response that we will get. I am surprised at any response.
We at least deserve a half-assed excuse!

Long live Halo.

Peace

That's probably a good idea, although I don't think it would do any good. But it's worth a try, I'm in.

Ive already signed that petition about 2 times. The one big mistake the petition creater has made is that he is aiming it at Gearbox.

You know Mr B, we go around this circle at least once a month. Bungie mods can’t help because we aren’t actual employees, I thought we’ve covered that. We do our best to help with the resources we have, but we are very limited in what we can do and who we can contact. I’ve been trying to get some frickin’ information out of Sketch for the longest time, but it really hasn’t resulted in anything… So in the meantime you just try to rip poor Goweb a new one because he offers corrections to misconceptions. It’s very understandable where you’re coming from and why you’re upset, but you really can’t direct any of the blame at the Moderators because we simply don’t have the resources to do what you ask. Trust me, Goweb would’ve had this fixed if he could, but he can’t do it… He has to play in the same conditions as everyone else. It’s either complaining about Halo PC or about Halo 2 Modders, all I can say is that we’re sorry we as Moderators can’t do more.

Yoozel, you also had taken the opinion of Mr B and got it confused. He said "I notice as ever goweb, you just defend bungie, and offer no help at all to this situation". I never see Mods say anything about the lag or problems Halo Pc has caused. They never post on the forums we create because you guys DEFEND BUNGIE. Why would you go with the company that is obviously has given us a game with how many flaws? ALOT.

This is the first time one of the Mods has posted on one of "these" forums and his name was goweb. Why did he post? To defend Bungie. Case Closed.

So I just imagined saying something about being equally frustrated with this game?

In my opinion, Gearbox are the ones who were responsible for the poor conversion of Halo. I defend Bungie because I don't think they had much to do with how the game turned out in the end.

If you hate lag, get Halo Custom Edition. If you hate CE, -blam!- you, but if so, Bungie should make an update that puts CE's updated code into Halo's..

But it IS bungies game no? Gearbox only changed it from a console FPS to a Computer FPS, and added the necessary changes like the keyboard layout, the mouse, and the netcode for the online multiplayer. It is not Gearboxs' fault that the game turned out the way it did. Bungie is the creator of this game. So therefor, they must take their responsibility and fix the errors they have in the game.

Its like sending out those Ab -Tronic things and only finding out later, after a ffew amillion have been sold, that they can shock you if you leave them on overnight. All I'm saying is that Bungie should have some respect for this game and fix some issues within it. Do you know how much Halo 2 raked in for them and Microsoft? They even said they were going to double their staff for their next "project". I'm sure they can get some developers familiar with the Halo engine and pay them after they've done it.

No, but they can get in contact much better than we can. No official bungie contact point even gets a response to polite emails. Thats just bloody rude IMO, and half the reason Im so crappy on this forum. Also the mods rarely help, usually just spout some bungie propaganda.

I enjoy reading your posts because you're so sure you have some clue as to what you're talking about.

Speaking of bloody rude, have you ever read your own work? Newsflash: You're a total jerk. You can say it's Bungie's fault or whatever you want, but you're still making a jackass of yourself over a computer game. You spout nonsense like you're a damn expert on Microsoft Game Studio's corporate structure, or how a game port is made, or, well, anything you've ever acted like you know on this forum, while at the same time being belligerent, as though you have the right to be rude to whomever.

Newsflash #2: The moderators do not have the info you think they should, nor the means to get it. There is no top secret newsletter. We're not in a position to ask questions, or, what you'd prefer, make your demands. If there is something Bungie feels we need to know, we're told. Outside of that, moderators have no more access than you to Bungie internal. Bottom line: If Bungie doesn't have an answer, the moderators are as in the dark as you.

This is your first and last warning, Mr B. I'm not putting up with you anymore. You may think you're some justice seeking keeper of the truth but the fact is you are the very "arrogant sod" your signature accuses Bungie of being. When you get an answer, you shout "propaganda!" and make an ass of yourself some more. Why? Because you don't want the actual answer, you want Bungie to tell you what you want to hear. Grow up. If you do not remove insult from your signature, and if you continue to be rude to my moderators, you will find yourself having to do it on another website. I'm sure you'll think of this as some kind of oppression of the truth, and whatnot, but the fact is that it's a moderator doing their job: Taking another overdramatic, tactless jerk off the forums.

Mr B wants answers Shishka. We all do. There's an old saying (and i paraphrase): If you want a child to behave, pat his head when he does well. If you want an adult to throw a tantrum, ignore him.

Our problem is not that we do not like the answers Bungie/Gearbox/MS have given us. We have been ignored by Bungie, Gearbox, and Microsoft in our pleas to fix the problems with Halo PC. The only people left to talk to are our peers. Three times i have read from different moderators commenting on these issues that "the powers that be" do not/will not/would not be bothered to read the Maw because it is such a quiet, well behaved forum. After more than a month of Mr B, myself, and others virtually spamming the Maw with pleas to fix the problems inherent with the game, I wonder...does the same hold true still?

Newsflash number 3: You have just given Mr B exactly what he wants. Direct attention from a higher level mod than goweb.

I can't speak for Mr B, but I do read my own work. My work has gone from happily helpful to total anti-Bungie. And I mean every word I've written. The Bungie.net servers are a bad joke. Halo PC is out of control, "arrogant sods" taking over the servers and using cheap programs to enhance their own poor skills. Bigitous propoganda and rascist slander have become part of the venacular in game as surely as abreviated text like "inc" or "gj". In fact, I see the spam more.

Yes, you can blaclkist Mr B for his complaining. You can ban me too. If they so desired, Bungie could silence the lot of us and close the Maw, wash their hands of the situation. Of course, you run the risk of turning Mr B from an annoying loud mouth (no offense intended) into a martyr and Bungie creating a PR nightmare worse than the mess they already have. But these are options open to you. Because you're a moderator and Bungie has control over these forums. See how that works?

In the end (and you know this as well as anyone) Mr B is not the problem. ME=KING and his ilk--and the hacker losers all over this game--are. As long as they exist and run through the servers without control or reprieve, people like Mr B--and me--will continue to get pissed off. But this is off topic from my intended post.

You have no more authority than we do? You have no more means of communication than we do? Very well, I'll accept your word until I or another proves otherwise. Lets talk about what you can do.

You can email problems about the game to MS, Bungie, and Gearbox. You can because we can. You can call them. You can search the web for information regarding this problem, find proof (Mr MA5B has a nice vid of a Tker in his sig if you're interested and there is a vid of an autolead program in action found in the Gearbox forums) to show them if they should ever contact you and say "lag is fine or a problem with your PC; there is no aimbot, we ban TeamKillers".

My question is, have you? This may sound like I'm calling you out. I'm not. I'm giving you and every other mod in these forums (Goweb in particualr) the chance--here and now--to speak. Even if you think there are no problems in Halo PC, I--we--want to hear your view. Just don't answer with silence Shishka. I think everyone here has had about enough of that.

EDIT: to the other mods responding to this thread.

goweb, yeah, you have mentioned some frustration about the game. When you said you still play Halo PC and had not disgarded it as the Big 3 seem to have, I revised some opinions of the mods in this forum (until today). I hope others will as well. But, whether Bungie gets money from XBL or not, you have to agree that all their attention has become focused on H2 and the upcoming H3 release for 360. The question is, why? The original intent of blu eylmo, IMO, was to suggest that they are going where the money is, and Halo PC isn't making any because its so "old". To those readers that choose to believe that Bungie/gearbox/MS are not making money on Halo PC, I suggest you check the net. I can't find anything newer, but Halo PC was #17 best selling game for the month of Augest, this year according to guru. That's far from a dead horse, so the money to invest in game support is there. The question is, if the money is there, where is the support???

Yoozel: Thank you and I wish you luck. Keep us informed please; we're all interested in knowing how you progress (or don't, as the case may turn out). This is the kind of response we've been pleading for from the moderators at Bungie.net. tell us you're as frustrated as we are...and that you're trying to help too.

At last, a return to you Shishka. I asked goweb once to email members of the PR staff of bungie and was none too subtle in that request; that's the closest i've ever come to verbally smacking down an admin in these forums. Until today. I hope that your next post will be considerably more constructive than your last. Your comments, flames, and threats today have managed to bring the moderator communtiy, as a whole, down in my estimation. This is unfortunate...for the other mods. If you do choose to ban Mr B for his comments, I suppose I'll be next on the chopping block. A request, when that day comes. Don't waste my time on threats, young man. Aside from having no effect on my views, they do nothing to improve the sentiment toward Bungie in these forums. And one last piece of info, Shishka: when you cut off a member because his views conflict with yours...that IS suppression. And when a mod for the Bungie forums does it, they do it as a representative of Bungie.

To quote a recent post: "Grow up."

The Xbox version runs well. Any technical problems in Halo PC are solely because of the conversion process.

Not all of them are necessarily Gearbox's fault - trying to make an Xbox game run on all different kinds of PC is difficult.
But, whether Bungie gets money from XBL or not, you have to agree that all their attention has become focused on H2 and the upcoming H3 release for 360.
Yes (aside from the H3 part, since it hasn't been announced). The whole point of getting Gearbox to convert the game was so that Bungie could focus solely on developing Halo 2.
If you have bothered to read you would see that I have tried emailing various bungie contact points (all very politly, nothing like my current style on the forum), and never even got a reply.
Bungie doesn't really have an official contact point (most developers don't, and the Webmaster doesn't count).
