In the begining of the 2003 E3 trailer there is a marine with a sniper rifle, and a spotter with a scope next to him, I wonder if there will be certain items that you can carry instead of a weapon. Such as an extended x20 scope, night vision, infared, what about the telescopeing tool the spartains use in the begining of TFofR to look over walls, repair kit for vehicles?

Can you think of any others?

Repair kit for vehicles is a nice idea, but think it over. The whole idea behind destructibe vehicles is so they don't become cheap. If you just go over a Repair Kit, and everything is back to normal, that would be way too cheap. And as for the scope, well, you don't need it, you have binoculars now.

in the books, marines have a scouter (one with the scope), and a sniper (one with the sniper), but linda was both (the spartan), plus MC MLJONIR armor now has binoculars (yay!!!)

Comon, guys! Halo is so loved because of its fast, action-filled, nonstop gameplay. It was a shooter. With attitude. But that attitude can't be pushed! In a singple player mission, one or two tools might do. MIGHT. But just think how much that would suck in multiplayer. No, it's not worth it. The time you'll take to get out your tool, put away your gun, etc. will take away a lot from gameplay. If you're really into that kind of stuff, go pick up Splinter Cell, or James Bond Everything or Nothing, or actual spy games/action games. Halo isn't that kind of game. Trust me, it looks good on paper, but it would suck.
