Ok we've all been wanting to know whats happening with our beloved Halo PC right?
Well we all know that Bunige, MS and GBX will not address the community to state wether or not there are further updates/patches for Halo PC.
So here's my suggestion.
Since we cannot get an offical answer for the communities query I suggest we inlist the help of people who might be able too.
Firstly If you want an answer you need big guns on your side.
So, contact Gamespot, IGN, Shacknews, PC Gamer, PC Zone, etc and put to them the issue of trying to pry an answer from the jaws of Bungie, MS, GBX.
The games media is the key to situations like this. They have the collective influence and 'get up 'n' go' to get an answer... Peer pressure is what it will take everyone.
So get off your butts and get organised, contact the gaming media and Im sure you'll find an answer comes sooner than you think.

Signing off..

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Good idea. A while back I suggested that we bypass MS-Bungie-Gearbox and find someone who could write a patch or something to block the Aimbot. People did not like the idea that they'd be asked to pony up to pay for the fix. They don't seem to realize that as far as MS et al are concerned, we bought the game, they made their money and any effort they make to fix problems just costs them money. Many software companies charge for tech support after an initial period and they all charge for major upgrades.

Remember, money talks. Show MS that they'll make a buck or two if they fix the problems and they'll fix them.

Actually, thats not a bad idea? im sure most of the gaming magazines would gobble this up and something would finaly be done. and like ive said before, why in the hell should we pay for them screwing up the game in the first place? if they didnt do a good job the first time, they deserve to lose whatever it takes to rectify the mistake. sure after a while they will charge for tech support, but its only when that certain disk has a problem not every single one. tech support is for manufacturing errors not port errors and whatnot. so my final conclusion, bungie, microsoft, gearbox. fix this please before we as a comunity are forced to take this a step further and involve the media. all it takes is one person.

Yeah, and if they cant be bothered with Halo on the Pc,they should @ least consider bring Halo 2 out o the PC and upd8ing that and providing patches etc regularly.

the problem is that the blame game would keep running around in a circle and nothing would get done because no one would accept the responsibility to fix or rerelease the "old" game.

every game does get old and isnt supported anymore. ie. marathon, diablo, warcraft 1 & 2, any non-current game console, ext. ext. there are a few old hold-outs like diablo 2 and StarCraft, but these are also declining and soon wont be supported. some games die sooner than others.

personaly i would like to see the ability to play h1 pc maps on the h2 pc game. though it would be sorta awquard from the change of physics

*note, there are still geeks who program games for old consoles like the atari 2600, and do do mods and maps and such for old games too.*

Yes, but the problems we are concerned about existed when this was a "new" game and nothing was ever done. That is what we want to "call them out" on. All three companies are guilty of leaving one of the greatest games ever in a shameful state. If Counter-Strike Source had come out and had the amount of lag that Halo PC does there would have been an major outcry. Valve would correct the situation immediatly, or even, I know this is a radical idea but, correct the problem and THEN release the game.

By the way, how would we go about doing this. Flood the mags websites, online petitions?

Halo is just part of the fairly new trend of releasing products before they are completely finished/stable, then having the customers rely on updates via the internet to get them to run. This is not how things should be done.

And if this is how things are going to occur from now on, then fix the darn thing within the first update. We the customers should not have to go through SEVEN updates and still have serious problems.

I don't care who fixes the game, just fix it!
