Halo 2 Vista is a PC game ported from Halo 2 Xbox.
HiredGun was the team built from interns of Microsoft.
Bungie helped in design decisions and quality assurance, they did a great job /sarcasm.
Halo 2 Vista is built upon the Live 2 architecture, and uses Games for Windows Live interface.
Reason why Halo 2 Vista is not called Halo 2 PC, is because Microsoft wanted to promote and force Windows XP users to buy Windows Vista (this was before Windows 7 was released).
Halo 2 Vista will work on XP through an unauthorized patch, but it will not present full functionality, no online play.
Now that Windows 7 is released, there are some errors with the Microsoft Cryptography service, which have been fixed by various people.
Nowadays, gpus are cheaper and better than Xbox 360's built-in gpu, oh and they're in DX11 too :D
If you got a multi-core cpu, you are sorted for H2V.
You can use the 360's Wired controller by connecting it into the USB slots on the PC.
You can use 360's wireless controller, but that will require a wireless device kit for the PC.
Halo 2 Vista is in 9th place as most played game on Games for Windows Live.
Bungie doesn't support nor do they care about Halo 2 Vista.
Microsoft formed a team called HiredGun to port Halo 2 to PC, after it was released, the game was abandoned within a year.
Blabaabaabaaaaa.
