All of these maps really look fantastic, and a lot of people here have misconceptions.
A lot of people are saying it's coming out too soon, but the Novemeber 30th release date for the map pack is 2 and a 1/2 months after release of Reach. I am happy they are coming out before Christmas so I will have more time to play.
The price is fine, all previous map packs have been priced the same. It is nearly the same as the COD packs, which were 5 for $15 I believe. $3.33 for a map is worth it for the hours of entertainment and fresh feeling I get from a new map. Of course free would be better, that's why I <3 valve in terms of DLC. I'm sure M$ influences the Halo map packs' price. If you don't want to buy them, then don't. And if that makes you sell your copy of Reach, then I guess Reach was never the game for you.
Anchor 9 looks pretty great, and I think the low-gravity area will work better in this map because it's not just some big open area like in Zealot, there is actually cover. I can imagine the low gravity antics. I really like the play space and setting overall.
Tempest looks great gameplay-wise, but I agree with others that the setting is too much like forge world. Maybe change the time of day or something (do the same for some of the other forgeworld maps, too!)? It seems a lot of people think this is a major forge map, but it's not really. Either way, the next major forge map should have a new setting, and should have big flat areas or even a remake of Sandbox would be nice (although I despise the visual style of Sandbox).
Breakpoint looks cool, but it's hard to tell by the screenshots how well it will play. I like the snow, but I miss the bright snowy style of Avalanche.
Overall they look great, but please come up with more unique maps like Reflection. That map is perfection in my eyes, especially the art style. Please let more of your artists have the freedom to come up with more gems like Reflection. Or at least use colors you haven't used yet; I think Halo 3 had a very nice variety in its color palette for the different maps. No more green, blue, and gray please.
