The people getting mad about the price crack me up. A few things to remember:
- Bungie doesn't set the price, Microsoft does, they are the publisher. Whine to Microsoft (which is futile anyway), not Bungie. And when Bungie comes out with their next game, whine to Activision.
- All of the Halo 3 map packs had 3 maps each (Cold Storage was released singly) and their price was? You guessed it - 800 space bucks. Quit your whining.
- Being able to edit terrain in Forge will never happen with Reach and if you were to read some of the pre-release interviews with Bungie staff you'd understand why. They've beefed up what you can do with objects over Halo 3's forge, be happy they even did that. The complaints about color pallette are valid, however.
- it was common knowledge that the campaign and multiplayer maps would be developed together long before the game ever came out. if you think about the massive amount of things you have in this game (campaign, firefight, multiplayer, theatre, forge, armory etc etc etc) and that it all has to fit on a DVD (as opposed to blu-ray which can hold way more data), it makes sense to me that the 'multiplayer maps were pulled straight from campaign'. Though I'd like to point out that it felt more like Ivory Tower (Reflection) was shoehorned into the campaign than anything else.
thanks for making new maps Bungie, keep 'em coming.
