Needlers didn't home to well. They would go in the general direction of a target, but they are easily dodged. What you do with a Needler (in multiplayer) is chase a target into a narrow room or corridor, emptying the entire Needler clip into them. In single player, they work alot better, because all the enemies just stand there taking needles, except Elites who can dodge and Hunters, who they are ineffective on.

I've been making a point of using needlers in single player just for the extra challenge on Legendary. They are effective (very in fact) against Elites with no cover aroundor who are in a tight hallway. They desrtroy grunts well and Jackals about 50/50 ( damn shields)

The trick, as mentioned above, is to unload a clip at a target, or several targets in a group, to get the 'ripple effect' of needler explosions, which set off dropped grenades, which set off other grenades ect.

The needler in Halo 1 is a piece of -blam!-, but it can still be really fun/effective in the right situations. In Halo2, it will rule.

Well... if I ever fealt like using I needler in first Halo, I would just basically spray it in the random direction towards an elite in a room, and if I get lucky "BOOM!!!" : )

Any way, I think that it will still, just simply move a lot faster, making it a lot more effective at medium range.
