My actual GamerTag is CYBORGER1... k?

I want to play Halo PC on LAN with a friend on each other's laptop. Can we create a "system link" by connecting each other's ethernet ports together with a single cable? Or do I absolutely need to be on a network? I've just never did that kind of thing so...

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

You would need a crossover cable for that type of link. But you can also be on the same wifi network.

Can I just use the ethernet cable that comes with the Xbox 360? You can do system link with it so I guess it is crossover.

Edit: Yeah I guess I can just do a wifi network thing, much less complicated, but I still think wired = less lag.

Edit2: Well after look-up I found out it's a patch cable, so i'll do a wi-fi network from my laptop to his. That's kinda like how DSes do it isn't it?

My friends and I always do it just like an Xbox System Link party. It works just fine. I even use the cord that comes with the 360, so, yeah, don't worry about the wifi thing. I've found that's actually harder AND can cause lag.

The only reason you can use a straight-through cable to connect two 360s is because it automatically does the cross-over process.

Mine does it automatically, too. I guess it has something to do with two Vista PCs? Idk
