subwoofer in speaker=bad

unless you not using the .1 sub woofer.

No, their Lucasfilm THX select Mordaunt-Short speakers. They're not the cheap-o ones you must be thinking of.

If it has THX on it, it must be good. But I thought that a subwoofer would mess with the sound of the speaker a little.

Thats what i thought too, but you can not tell that the sub distorts the sound, in fact it gives the sound more of a "thump" and when you playing with other people, its nice to hear their footsteps and kill them before they kill you

$178,000.000

Thats sounds about right. I'll get it when the price comes down. But some companies are messing with 9.1. I know that 8.1 is still being tested.

I worked all summer to buy a panasonic 27 in. hdtv to play halo 2 on, i am also working at getting a small surround sound system something i can fit into my dorm room when i go back to college. I also got a router and some ethernet cables for the massive amounts of time we will spend playing lan games in the dorms. I also got the monster component cables.

I really want one of these as my portable gaming monitor, but I might go ahead and settle for the cheaper version!

Go with that, then. $1700 includes the stand. The picture quality is the best available on ANY TV, and it has an integrated (built-in) tuner so you can grab HDTV over the airwaves. If the link doesn't work it's the Sony KD-36XS955. If I hadn't already bought my 40" I would be getting this instead. It's a steal.

OOPS! In reply to the guy above whose family can't afford the $5000 DLP.
