Well I've played guitar for 12 years, and picked it up real quick aswell. I've been told by my College music tutor that I'm 40 years my playing age (a real compliment, him being one hell of a guitarist himself). PS, I play Jazzy-Rock (Steely Dan anyone?). Now here's my opinion:
Now, the Bass is the easiest. If you can play the Guitar, you can play the Bass.
Keyboards, neh. Tricky at first, but you get used to it.
Now Drums, THAT's hard. I'm not talking about a simple 3-4 or 4-4 Kick, Snare, Hat rhythm. Hard-core rock drumming is quite a spectacle. Jazz drumming when done right, is -blam!- brilliant.
Now, the lesson here though is, to get good at any of the above, years of constant practise are needed. Luckily when I was young, I figured that I'll work (bore!) my arse off at the Guitar, and the rewards are coming in. Practise is the name of the game people.
