Check out my Forge Handbook blog at http://forge-life.blogspot.com for everything you could possibly need to know about the technical aspect of using Forge 2.0.
The Guide is nearly complete, but there is always room for new submissions, so remember to check back.
The only thing I would have to say is that the two forge world maps are severely lacking. Aside from the shoddily placed safe and kill zones allowing the players way too much reign in some areas as well as the paths being far too restrictive, it takes far to long to get to forks, etc, and the fact that one can't move between paths almost at all, games become very tedious during times of non action.
Atom itself has a serious glaring issue where a player can come across the hammer, focus rifle, rocket and grenade launcher within 8 seconds of each other. Cliffhanger is even worse in this, with multiple paths that lead to nowhere, and almost nothing to the layout aside from the three buildings. That doesn't even account for the fact that one can stand freely on the Forge-Placed rocks behind the base closest to the Pillar.
I don't know if you were trying to crowd source map selection methods, but neither of these maps live up to even the least worthwhile of non-forged maps.
Up until now, things have been pretty ok, but this new stuff has me worried. I really don't want the guy who chose those to be in charge of the Forgetacular Contest, it would end quite badly. I don't mean to down on whoever that was, but I can't see how it would be hard to see to anyone else that he missed some pretty obvious things.
Also, I have been nothing but constructive in saying any of this, as I have pointed out the reasoning behind everything I have said, and will gladly clarify for anyone who thought something was missed. That said, I don't expect to receive any messages with warnings about my post or its content, as I have not done anything wrong, or even mildly rude, for that matter. If I were to receive any, it would just prove that certain people find it uncomfortable to be criticized and that they feel that they need to have things their way only because they are in charge. I like to believe that no one within Bungie is like that, as they ask for suggestions, which lead to criticism, quite often.
Have a nice day.
