As you know, Steam is just about the largest online game marketing website. It has nearly every major game title except halo. So why not bungie? Get Halo on Steam!

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Microsoft owns Halo now. And very few Microsoft-owned titles ever make it to Steam.

Yet it would be a good idea.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Will not happen.
If they went digital distro, it would be on GFWL Games on Demand. Not steam.

I hate how Steam works. It would be cool with me if they made it where it was available ON Steam along side how it is now, but if it were an only steam thing then I'd probably stop playing Halo PC all together. I don't really know why, but Steam just starts to annoy me.

Non-Steam games never go Steam-only.

And yes, it would be a good idea. But like a lot of good ideas, it won't happen.

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Microsoft is too much of a stupid company, that's why they have a fail service called GFWL, which makes damn sure you don't own your game forever.

Don't forget it was Microsoft and Bungie's stupidity that H2V is the -blam!- game it is now.

Microsoft has abandoned support for Halo 1 PC/CE and H2V, but guess what? H2V was abandoned within 1 year.

Why couldn't they be like Valve, who supports their games forever?

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Steam is great. I prefer using Steam to having a physical copy of the game now. No codes to enter, no discs to lose, it just works. Your games are right there forever to play. And their prices are very reasonable. They have put a lot of older games on the service, doing away with patches and incompatibilities with newer hardware. I doubt M$ would ever put either Halos on Steam though.

Halo 2 for Windows shouldn't be sold period. It's garbageware.

Given how bad it is, they should pay you to play it.

Good idea ... which will never happen. If MS can't even put these games in the GFWL marketplace, they will never appear on Steam.

The Human race is the parasite of the Earth. The galaxy is the host of the Earth. The universe is the parasite of something much grander...

I already did this Thread but yes I would love to see Halo PC make it to steam it would be the top selling game in an instant and Valve and Microsoft would once more drown in money. But the thing is that Halo is said and done. and does not really need to be pushed any further.

Pass the controller bro

It lacks the quality to be featured on Steam.

Halo PC has been upkept to the point where it still functions on most computers. Dragon Age, which is available on Steam, will randomly crash for most Windows 7 users and still has a mountain of bugs that have been in the game since release. In terms of quality, Halo PC is a shining gem compared to Dragon Age, which was rush-wrecked solely for money.

To be fair, Steam had its fair share of problems in the first couple of years, but Valve has done an excellent job sorting things out and those problems are largely gone. I have no doubt that some games still have issues though with certain operating systems or other hardware.

I think he's talking about h2v. The game that fails to run on many 7 PCs due to live gaming on windows failing to initialize.

Halo PC/CE, on the other hand, runs on anything from 98 to 7 with no issues.

It would be cool, but since Microsoft owns all Halo copyrights, I'm going to go ahead and say this will never happen.

Especially since Halo 2 is already a LIVE title (Games for Windows LIVE), and if Halo 1 were to ever make it to LIVE (doubtful) it would be GfWLIVE as well.

Something smells fishy...

The answer is 42 unfortunately. Life is tough and Microsoft just makes it tougher.
