Lulz. You actually read peoples sigs. What a loser. ;)

IMO, the citadel fleet, they have better tech, now if it was the covenant v citadel fleet there would be a different story. Your thoughts?

Let me guess. One shot from a Citadel Ship can vaporize a CCS Battlecruiser?

Um, Mass Effect tech outmatches pretty much all Halo tech. (Forerunners vs Protheans not included).

I'm guessing you wouldn't give Halo a chance. Anyway its a confedaration of allies against the conjoint fleets of one Empire. Why not just do Forerunners and UNSC against the Protheans, Turians, Salarians, Asari and the Human Alliance.

P.S SPARTANS would board the Destiny Acension and take it over.
P.P.S Halo is more advanced by 350 years.
P.P.P.S The Destiny Acension got its ass kicked by Geth Dropships but then the Humans came in and kicked some Geth ass.

Worlds best warthog driver (and pilot)

I guess mass effect but if the covenent came in with the unsc halo hands down.

Well if they sent a Nova Bomb through slipspace, bye bye citadel and your fleet.

  • 10.16.2010 4:36 AM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Nova bomb > Citadel fleet.

Also Garrus, Garrus could take on the whole Covenant armada by himself and still have time by the end of the day to finish those calibrations.

This.
And btw, Rob you are freaking awesome.

The MAC gun does damage in the Terratons, and an Citadel frigate (I'm basing this off the SR2 Normandy) is about the size of a UNSC Longsword. No joke.

And don't even get me started on how badly the Covenant would destroy the Citadel forces. Mass Effect soldiers use kinetic barriers, rather than energy shielding. Covenant plasma and energy weapons wouldn't be hindered by these at all.

Also, the Destiny Ascension? It is one kilometer long. A Halycon-class UNSC cruiser? 1.17 km long. A Covenant Super Carrier? Estimated to be about 25km long, by some.

I think the UNSC could very possibly win, and the Covenant would win hands down.

Nothing to see here, move along.

I reckon the UNSC would make mince meet out of the alliance fleet.

Yes lets see.

Nova Bomb can destroy a planet.
Its magnitude is 1.2 petatons.

Shiva is smaller than the bomb used to destroy Hiroshima but is over 10 times more destructive.

Super MAC nuff said.

The guns on Mass Effect ships are weaker than there UNSC counterparts, but still probably strong enough to cripple/kill many of UNSC ships in a single shot. They can also fire faster. Mass Effect ships would have a range advantage, as the projectiles from there ships move a lot faster than MAC rounds. Mass Effect also has an advantage in FTL speed.

We know the the UNSC had 2000 ships near the star of the war with the Covenant, I don't how how that compares with mass effect.

The MAC gun does damage in the Terratons,

Kilotons everywhere except the encyclopedia, including newer and higher canon sources. Halo 2 has MAC rounds moving at single digit/low double digit kilometers per second, Conversation from the Universe had them below 20 km/s, Halo Reach at single digit km/s, and TFOR at 30 km/s.

The Super MAC can rip through 3 covenant ships in one shot. Shields or not. Also SlipSpace can be used as a weapon by just opening a portal.

.

"Happiness is like glass, you might not always notice it but if you change your view and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light."

Every one talking about the mac cannons are not thinking about maneuverability. The Normandy could just stay near the back of each ship and destroy them quickly. Covenant ships also may have a hard time hitting the Normandy. Remember mac cannons fire in one direction.

What a waste....

The shield is for the benefit of all.

Hmmm Spartans versus Adepts would be interesting...

(I'm waiting for Adept powers to be implemented at a space combat level...)

  • 10.16.2010 12:26 PM PDT

UNSC would win they have MAC cannons not kinetic guns, Shiva's Archers and NOVA bombs, mobile and strong ships of varying classes and the best leaders such as Cole and Keyes. The citadels fleets best ship is the normandy because it has stealth features and high manouverability but so do the UNSC they have lots of Prowlers ( Which lay nuclear minefileds and can remain 'dark' for long periods of time) not just one stealth ship. Also spartans in space combat can be very effective and Humans use AI's on most ships as they're not against space law in UNSC Space unlike in mass effect where only a few have limited AI's.

Adepts Hands Down. They Could just throw the Spartans away. Biotics Rivals The Force

MAC = Magnetic Accelerator Cannon = Use magnets to drive a large projectile at targets.

Remind me how that is not a kinetic gun?

Tech base is completely different. Element Zero changes a lot of things. Mass Effect has mass production and miniaturization on its side. Difference in time is questionable since humans in the ME universe were able to crack the Prothean tech faster and meet up with Aliens to share their tech (as opposed to engage in a war of annihilation) earlier.

ALL alliance marines are equipped with power armor, genetically modified, and probably have kinetic barriers. I'd surmise they are the equivalent of ODSTs or Orions, possibly Spartan III.

All ships have kinetic Barriers, though their performance vs energy weapons is unknown. They also tend to pack the equivalent of MAC cannons, albeit at a smaller size though possibly equal destructive power.

Halo's universe does see relatively wide scale usage of Smart AI as opposed to ME which tends to shun them. EDI is the exception, not the rule.

We're treading on Star Wars vs Star Trek, Macross Vs Gundam tech and I'd rather not.

That said, I'd love to cut loose Krogans on the Brutes or watch the interactions of Grunts and Hunters with Elcore, Volus, and Hanar. Cortana's interaction with the Geth would be intriguing.

Or we could just have this.

A 800 meter dreadnought has main gun with a yield of ~38 kilotons. UNSC frigates have guns with a ~65 kiloton yield. However, ME ships can fire there weapons every two seconds, while UNSC ships usually require lengthy charge times.

The other main difference is that the UNSC uses extremely heavy(600,000 kg), low velocity(30 km/s) rounds, ME ships use light(20 kg), high velocity(4000 km/s) rounds. This would give ME ships a big range advantage.

The Covenant would be a better match, tbh.

You've got a mobile station for a capital city, surrounded by a big fleet. Also, both factions have shields on their ships.

High Charity has a larger fleet around it than the Citadel, fyi.

  • 10.16.2010 3:53 PM PDT

UNSC Hands Down. Their ships are way bigger, better armed, and they have Orbital Mac Guns. The Dreadnoughts such as the Destiny Ascension would be the most formidable hurdle, and even that is smaller then Pillar of Autumn. The Reaper Fleet however would make short work of the UNSC. Covenant vs Reaper Fleet! now that would be epic.
