Never say you're bored. Never say you're satisfied with the world. Never stop doubting or questioning things. Always wonder. Always think. But always take time to drop your guard, you don't have to be smart all the time.

ME2 refrence
Oh yes to settle this debate, if we are talking about the citadel fleet vs the unsc, then thier is hardly any competition... reason; Most of the citadel fleet was wiped out by a single reaper, and the fact that the Normandy used just one blast seems to mean that the citadel fleet is terrible at shooting. As for technology the UNSC fleet has novas, nukes,MACs,archer missles, auto cannons, longswords, short sorwds, sabers, etc
When we see the citadel fleet has energy projectiles(slugs)

óÓÒò Snow Leopard and Fox Hybrid óÓÒò

I think it should be all of the ships in Halo vs all the ships in Mass effect. Have both factions at their last known state(ie. the Halo fleet at the end of Halo 3 and the ME fleet at the end of ME2)Noticed how I said all ships and at the end of Halo 3, so every single working covy and human vs every ship in ME.

Side note: dont forget the Quarians

Smerious!

Mass Effect would win but I think Forerunner tech beats protheon tech any day.

UNSC definitely just because they have luck.

  • 10.17.2010 6:21 PM PDT

"No one ever dies a virgin because life -blam!-s you in the end."

The Citadel Fleet would own the UNSC, but if the UNSC could get a slipspace bomb like the one in Reach and detonate it in the flagship, they might have a slim chance of winning.

Wake me when the jews are gone.

there wont be a figth because both sizes will recognize that with threats like the flood and the reapers the logic decision would be to form an aliance

The Alliance has 8 Dreadnoughts ranging from 800-1000km by 2185, no figures on how many cruisers/frigates etc. is given but they are probably a lot more in comparison. As of 2157 they had 200 ships total during their first contact war with the Turians. Im going to assume 60+ ships per dreadnought so thats like 480 ships total?
the covenat batlecruiser and the unsc heavy cruiser have 1 to 2 km long
also the covenat assaullt carrier has 5 km an the supercarrier 27
only the human flet has 2000 ships

Also known as Entropy91
Black Water Ops representative.
See you on the battlefield.

Consider the fact that a single round from an Orbital Defence Station carries enough kinetic energy to destroy a planet. A 3,000 ton slug fired at 4% light speed, which is still considerably fast. Impact energy is about 1000 times the power of Tsar Bomba, the most powerful nuclear device ever detonated, at 5.16 gigatons (5,160,000,000 tons of TNT).The UNSC could very well have built the Death Star if they wanted to.

They also have a weapon which could vaporize an entire Covenant fleet and colony world. This consisted essentially of a bunch of nukes duct taped together.

And let's not forget the MacGuyver'd slipspace bomb, which effortlessly destroyed a Covenant Assault Carrier. The result of which triggered an EMP, which would affect any other ships nearby.

The UNSC does have some extremely powerful weapons in it's arsenal.

However, without these weapons in play, the UNSC would have a difficult time against the Citadel fleet, consiering that much of it is derived from Prothean technology. The Protheans, being almost exact carbon copies of the Forerunners, would give a distict advantage to the Citadel fleet. I would say that they [Citadel] would be an equal match, if not slightly outclass, the Covenant Fleet of Particular Justice. This is based purely on naval technology presented.

That said, you also have to take the tactical brilliance of UNSC ship captains into account. Captain Keyes managed to defeat four Covenant ships on his own without the use of a shipborad AI. He also kind of winged it the whole time. Granted, his ship was severely damaged, but he still won. Given this, the UNSC would win hands down.

Verdict: The Citadel fleet is more technologically advanced than the UNSC fleet. However, the UNSC has the advantage of devastating superweapons and tactical ability. Based on this, the UNSC would win.

I'm not completely sure that the Citadel Fleet would win, they have better Technology, yes, but they did not have a full scale war with some race that's even more advanced yet (and I'm not counting the Geth) The UNSC has been at war with the Covenant for a very long time now, they are more fit to fight on the moment because they can probably come up with better Stragety's, but like I said ''the Citadel Fleet has better Technology'' So I think it will probably be a tie

Just read some specs on ME (interesting Universe BTW)

All's one needs to do is drop a NOVA into the citidel (closed or not; I read somewhere the NOVA bomb energy output could be in the EXATON range) and literelly make it so it might as well not have existed.

Same could be for the Reapers as well, or pretty much anything else.

(((sorry for double post)))

*facepalm*

I just read on the ME wiki; dreadnoughts were 800 meters to one kiliometer long, no where CLOSE to what you're talking about (unless you meant to put down meters but accidently put down km for kilometers, in which case, alright)

The Covenant Supercarrier was 27 actual kilometers long.

For perspective, it was 8 kilometers longer then the super star destroyer in Star Wars (which was 19 kilometers)

Essentially, a supercarrier's shields relative to its size could allow for the carrier to literelly run right over the Alliance ships without fatal or any damage to its hull.

Woah Qbix, you are such a boss

You forgot something

ARE WE FORGETTING THE ULTIMATE SHIP KNOWN ONLY AS SOVEREIGN?
HE ALONE TOOK DOWN MOST OF THE CITIDAL'S FLEET. IMAGINE WHAT HE COULD DO TO A SUPERCARRIER. HE ONLY GOT TAKEN DOWN BECAUSE HE CHANNELED HIS SHIELDING INTO SAREN. Sovereign>All of Halo's fleets.

  • 10.31.2010 7:06 AM PDT

all men are equal, except i am more equal than you because i am alive and you are dead

TBH knowing the way that the citadel works the council will be busy for a week voting whether or not to take action against the UNSC and/or covenant and will only react untill the enemy comes-a-knocking on their door step

  • 10.31.2010 7:59 AM PDT

I don't care. I really don't.

UNSC has more ships though, and a better FTL working.

When a ship in ME is going at FTL speeds, it's still in normal space, even when using a Mass Relay, and therefore possible to track and calculate a firing vector (I don't think they'll be turning at those speeds unless they want to die, so MACs would easily destroy there).
UNSC ships on the other hand use slipspace, and can't be tracked using a weapon because they're not even in normal space, and even when they arrive, they don't arrive in positions that could be calculated in any way.
So ME ships could be destroyed while en route by the UNSC because of their inferior FTL, even though it's faster in speed.

And ME usually use weapons that have to be fired in a staright line, however UNSC ships have missiles and the such, plus they have emergency pods to move rapidly out of the way.

Another thing that has to be taken into account is which universe are they fighting in? ME's or Halo's?
I would assume neither, so then the UNSC wouldn't have slipspace, and ME wouldn't have Element Zero. That means every piece of tech (FTL, barries, biotics, etc.) wouldn't work for ME's ships, so they'd be dead in space.

PS. Yes, I am a huge fan of both. And yes, I know ME has Garrus.

I'm not taking the Covenant or Forerunner into account for Halo or the Protheans or Reapers for ME. Just Humans vs. Humans with a lot of alien friends.

NOVA (Exaton energy output)/forerunner ships (black hole maker;stellar collapse)/Covenant's needle thin "ship sniper" from FoR>>>>Sovereign.

sovereign, relative to the ME universe is impressive mainly due to his size (which is 25 kilometers smaller then the Supercarrier BTW)

If we threw in a single Forerunner ship, it could cut sovereign clean in half (see: Origins)

NOVA...

We have-
Shield world technology
Apparently, giant floating rings constructed in a few years.
With the Forruners, we can wipe the galaxy in a moment's notice.

Mass Effect Vs. Forruners.

Hmmm Spartans versus Adepts would be interesting...

(I'm waiting for Adept powers to be implemented at a space combat level...)

Adepts Hands Down. They Could just throw the Spartans away. Biotics Rivals The Force

I beg to differ, sir. A Biotic has to use a medium of some kind, whilst a Jedi needs only to concentrate, and the Force is at his command.

OT
- I think that if it was the entire fleet of either side using everything at their disposal... I'd have to give it to the UNSC. The smaller Citadel Frigates can only play cat and mouse for so long before all those human pilots get out witted by all those A.I. controlled UNSC ships.

so it actually comes down to tactical brilliance on the battlefield rather then who has the bigger gun (which is still Halo anyway).

And an AI that can put out billions of calculations in one second (suck it Garrus) vs normal minds of humans and such, I think its obvious who would win.
