The guns on Mass Effect ships are weaker than there UNSC counterparts, but still probably strong enough to cripple/kill many of UNSC ships in a single shot. They can also fire faster. Mass Effect ships would have a range advantage, as the projectiles from there ships move a lot faster than MAC rounds. Mass Effect also has an advantage in FTL speed.

We know the the UNSC had 2000 ships near the star of the war with the Covenant, I don't how how that compares with mass effect.

The MAC gun does damage in the Terratons,

Kilotons everywhere except the encyclopedia, including newer and higher canon sources. Halo 2 has MAC rounds moving at single digit/low double digit kilometers per second, Conversation from the Universe had them below 20 km/s, Halo Reach at single digit km/s, and TFOR at 30 km/s.

dude objects have no range in space.

there is no air resistance.

no gravity.

no nothing to hinder the shot. it would carry the same energy forever.

even an Ak shot would travel forever before hitting something. Range makes no sense here.

Logic is fail.

No gravity?

What the -blam!-. Go back to elementary school.

IT WOULD BE TEH EPICZ SPAEC BATTLEZ.

But anyway, tech-wise, Citadel fleets win, however, in terms of guile and determination, UNSC. If not for Commander Shepard and his crew, ME universe is screwed.

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favourite store on the Citadel.

Wake me when the jews are gone.

the UNSC AI's are equal or more advanced than the protean VI

MJOLNIR Mark VII in Reach! We can make it happen!!!

What about Spectres vs Spartans?

That would actually be pretty cool....

Do you know what a VI is? It is like a UNSC dumb AI, but even dumber. VIs are simple programs, we can even create primitive VIs.
And seriouslyb peeople, Protheans are not an advanced ancient race, they were pretty much on the same level as the asari. Reapers won't allow anything more hightech to exist.

Why does everyone assume Spectres are some kind of super soldiers?
Spectres are just the regular Spec-Ops dudes, pretty much like ODSTs, the only thing special about them is that they are above Council law.
The Council does not have a Spartan progam since that would be evil and somehow it could result with a war with the Terminus Systems.

So ME is still screwed since Shapard is not a mamber of the Citadel forces anymore.

the only reason he says ME's tech is superior is because it looks flashier; UNSC is aimed at function rather then aesthetic design, and their tech functions at least twice as good as ME's save only for effective range.

This sadly the main reason why people think ME has the superior tech, its because of the idotic flying cars and fancy shamcy ship designs.
Military ships are not supposed to win frakking beauity contests, they are supposed to win WARS.
But its not like ME has an actual military anyway...

Hell, Alliance is so pathetic that they are privately funded, just like Cerberus...

M.E. Has better tech, but their travel is limited to the mass relays and short range ftl jumps. UNSC or covenant vessels could simply jump into slip space to evade engagement. Covenant vessels could probably set up some effective ambushes with their more precise slip space maneuverability. Then again, we are comparing two entirely FICTIONAL universes that both incorporate entirely FICTIONAL technology. So the winner is determined by the number of fan boys standing behind either franchise.

read the above two posts; could the ME world launch a planet crusher through slipspace and bomb any lanet in the galaxy?

And we know its fiction, but both use statistics and (for the most part) real world science.

Its just for fun.

i'd like to see Grunt vs Tartarus or Garrus vs Arbiter

Grunt: "I AM KROGAN!!!!!"
*Tartarus keeps standing*
*Grunts rams him and bounces off*
Grunt: "I. AM. KROGAN!!!!!!"
*Grunts rams him and bounces off*
Tartarus: "Not another WORD!"
*swings the Fist ir Rukt like a baseball bat and sends Grunt flying*
Grunt: "I AM STILL KROGAN!!!!!"

Garrus: "SCOPED AND DROPPED!"
*Arbiter decloaks and slices him in half*
Arbiter: "Were it so easy, vermin, were it so easy."

Did you forgot? Flying cars and fancy looking ships make everything high tech!

Yeah, we know its fiction, ME's side is the one that quite often tends to forget that...

The UNSC would dominate any ground operation just like in the war with the covenant but in space there ships would be fairly weak since they don't have sheilds so thats really there only weakness. Also the Spartans would be unstoppable compared to any of the mass effect races (salarians and others would be under armoured and have less effect on the sheilds of the spartan.) plus commander shepard is kinda weak compared to the master cheif and Johnson (even in death Johnson could kik shepards but). (mass effect has no small fighters like the UNSC therby they would be getting boarded repeatedly (mostly by spartans)).

  • 12.07.2010 3:32 PM PDT

Wake me when the jews are gone.

the war would be like these
1th day: a UNSC refifted colony ship arrives at a council sistem the 4 frigates atack, the UNSC makes quick work of them and call for reinforcments. after losing contact the council send 3 cruiser to investigate. only one cruiser come back badly damaged they say that a human aliance with superb firepower easily destroyed their ships and their name was UNSC the council repleis in the news: yes the UNSC a human alliance with superb firepower that atacked our colony we dismissed that claim
2th day: the ONI steal a ship and send a message confirming their existance and calling for the citadel surrender the council thinks in seding a fleet but don't send because it could start a war at terminus sistem.
3th day: after several colonies disband the council send a fleet of 1 dreadnought 4 cruisers and 8 frigates against 1 marathon 5 frigates and 4 destroyers the fleet is destroyed with medium losses to the UNSC Cerberus join the UNSC.
4th day: the council send shepard's team to the sistem a longsword destroy the engines, noble and read teams board the normandy killing most of its crew and capturing shepard's team. One AI's steal the ship data and discover about the mass relays.
5th day: the UNSC begins destroying the mass relays and capturing sistems the council begins sending fleets to protect their sistems and have it's fisrt win
6th day: the UNSC make contact with the geth and arrange an aliance, the batarians and merc bands start atacking UNSC controled space.
7th day: the UNSC send an fleet of over a 50 ships that make easy work of the citadel defense fleet but they lock the citadel to all the UNSC
8th day the ONI infiltrate 3 spartam teams ho capture the council and force their surrender
Over the next weekthe UNSC eliminate the resistance

Some facts are overlapping others, but it seems the Halo's are bringing a good fight. I've seen over 5 variations of statistics on a ME tech. Not so reliable...

(I just NEED to throw this out there, to anybody who would know:
"Sir, it's a- uh... I don't know what to call it!"
"It's a Gundam!!!"
Then 00 Quanta would use Quantum system to force everyone into a state of understanding.)

Where is this giant war being waged? Across multiple fronts, or in one area of doom?
if the battle was one huge ZOMG-fest, there are multiple approach vectors each ship can take. If above a planetoid, or celestial object, gravity will affect kinetic weaponry. Gas giants allow ME to dump their drive cores. A sun's magnetosphere could interrupt shielding on both sides.

  • 12.07.2010 10:19 PM PDT

This is how it would go if based after the human covie war...

unsc and covie united forces send a nova bomb to hit the me fleet.... the end

  • 12.08.2010 12:02 AM PDT

Remember Elk

Wait what? Earth are owned by both sides? That would start a war between ME civilians and Halo civilians. Neither military force can blow away the other side without killing their own people.

mass effect would kick ass no ship in the halo universe would be able to withstand a blast from any citadel defense ship the UNSCs blast would scratch some paint and the covenant armada would be able to breach one ship if they put ten of their shots together plus mass effect ships shoot and carry on shooting covenant ships put all their power into one blast it takes very precious seconds to recharge also about Spartans boarding the ship their is only one spartan left (assuming the left over Spartans haven't found their way out of shield world) that is not enough. Plus the armor even in the infantry is much stronger than any body armor in the halo universe. It'd be like bringing toy guns to war.
Heard of a NOVA bomb, that would wipe out their fleet in seconds. ME<Halo

He will dismiss it as unrealstic, leave this delusional fanboy alone, unless you have a way to launch him into the sun...
It's funny how in his world megaton to Petaton yield nukes and MACs varying from power from 60 kiloton to 51,6 Gigaton won't even scratch the paint on ships that get gutted by 38 kilotons, is it some new kind of shielding or something? Is it another magical element that protects ME ships from receving any damage from other universes? To be honest I wouldn't be suprsied...
Hey!

  • 12.08.2010 4:15 AM PDT

Yes I am British, I like tea, I like crumpets, and I am going to kick your ass!

You better hope the Alliance fleet win against the UNSC, otherwise they won't stand a chance against the Reapers.

so 1,200,000,000,000,000 kiloton bombs, 59 gigaton super MACs, energy beams such as pulse lasers, 68 per-shot standardized Frigate MACs (already superior to almost all of the highest powered weapons in ME) Slip-Space cannons and Spartans can't destroy Reapers?

But inferior technology can? Interesting...

And since the Reapers are suddenly allowed in, so are the Covenant, who have weapons that bypass kinetic barriers used by the Reapers and would therefore be able to one shot any Reaper with a plasma torpedo (and have ships 26 km longer then Sovereign; more ship surface=more weapons and bigger reactor)

  • 12.08.2010 5:50 AM PDT

Think about it this way- if a single Reaper w/triple-digit kiloton level weapons could literally stop the Citadel and Alliance fleets cold, what could a UNSC frigate-or a battlegroup-do?

Also, get a junker spacefighter [one that is about to be decomissioned-like a TARASQUE, or a Seraph, I know they have limited FTL capacity](Long Night of Solace-they just run), outfit it with a NOVA, jump close to the Citadel via ONI Prowler, Prowler watches from safe distance while remote-controlled/kamikaze Seraph detonates near the Citadel tower.

  • 12.08.2010 7:06 AM PDT

Wake me when the jews are gone.

the reapers are only powerful because of their size and shieds but when you have ships of 27 km and pulse lasers they are -blam!-y cruisers

MAC salvo and or double digit megaton nuclear warhead.

>.>

That statement was supposed to be PRO Halo.
I meant that if one Reaper could savage both the Citadel and Alliance fleets, the UNSC and it's MANY frigates would more or less turn the collective forces of the Systems Alliance and the Citadel into a Charlie Foxtrot massacre.
