Lurking like a baws. Totally. It's like totally important if I post because I barely post.

...

WHO EVEN LOOKS AT SIGNATURES ON BUNGIE.NET ANYWAY???

Question:

Why did the Covenant decide to use purple as their main color? Vehicles, interiors of ships/High Charity, et cetera.

  • 01.17.2011 5:28 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

@Halollove

Well, the San 'Shyuum and the Sangheili had a thing for purple.

-The gang

PS: The real answer is that Joe Staten's favorite color is purple.

-Re'gish Wamik - Do you think the humans (more accurately, the Spartans. Or Demons, whichever you prefer) would've have been a valuable addition to the Covenant, had they been given the oppertunity to join up?

-Fapnap - If you had an oppertunity to wear armor similar to what the Elites wear, with a smaller, lighter methane tank, would you take it?

-Ogada Nosu Fasu - The Mgalekgolo always travel in pairs, but wouldn't it be easier for a colony to form one bigass Hunter, rather than two?

-Hopalong - Are your queens capable of using a weapon?

-Jak - The Kig-Yar make better snipers than normal infantry, but when you do snipe, why are you barely three meters away from the humans? And why did you drop the Needle Rifle for the Carbine?

-Ren - Would you consider Skirmishers as the "Spartans" of the Kig-Yar?

-Servus - Is cannibalism as big an issue with Jiralhanae as it is with humans?

-Vergil - I read somewhere that your kind doesn't neccesarily enjoy working for the Covenant, so why not join the Humans?

-Ferox - What was the inspiration for the Brute Shot?

-Lucien - No real history question, but I thought Huragok had names like "Lighter Than Some" and "Easy to Adjust". Is yours different because of your position?

  • 01.17.2011 7:08 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

@Ed Nejo

When we first encountered humans, we were impressed by their skills in combat, and thought they would make a great addition to the Covenant. However, the San 'Shyuum convinced us otherwise.

-Re'gish

Grunts want lots of powerful armors!

-Fapnap

We reproduce like cells, asecksually. One Lekgolo splits into two, and those are mates for life. We have no control over biology.

-Os (aka Ogada)

They can. But they don't. They lay eggs instead.

-Hopalong

We are not told where to deploy. Our infantry leaders tell us to snipe from a certain position and we stay there as ordered. And we do not get to choose what weapon we use, that is up to our infantry leader us well. They made us switch.

-Jak

No. Us Skirmishers are more like "cousins" of the Kig-Yar.

-Ren

No. Only if they eat a brother or a member of their fellow tribe. To put it in terms a human could understand: If a Frenchman were to eat a German, there would be no problem. But if a Frenchman ate a fellow Frenchman, he would either be banned from the tribe or killed.

-Servus

We are not very capable of fighting. If we tried to escape, they would have killed us. Our holder was killed during the attack of New Mombasa, giving me a chance to connect to the Superintendent, and eventually group up with human soldiers, referred to you as "Orbital Drop Shock Troopers".

-Vergil

The Brute Shot is a grenade launcher. It is a ballistic weapon meant mostly to flip or damage vehicles, and the bayonet was attached in case an enemy came too close to use the launcher.

-Ferox

Yes, my name carries significance of my position within society. Unlike normal Huragok, I was born with the intention of being a historian. My name carries Forerunner resemblance because of the importance historians are given in Huragok society.

-Re'gish Wamik - Zealots (not the gold ones) have some cool-looking armor, but do you think additional decorations made of whatever the Energy Swords use would be effective in combat?

-Fapnap - Have the Covenent ever figured out how to recycle gasses? I think they should figure out how to do that, 'cause I feel bad watching Grunts waddle around with those heavy tanks.

-Ogada Nosu Fasu - If your kind had met the humans under different conditions, rather than war, what would you think of them?

-Hopalong - So queens just exist to pump out little Yanme'e rug rats as fast as you can pump them into her?

-Jak - Interesting. Would you have any difficulty speaking English without a translator?

-Ren - Mmm, yeah. Stronger and faster, plus downright meaner with a Focus Rifle. When your kind lived on their home planet, were they pirates like your Jackal cousins?

-Servus - I see. And do female Jiralhanae have the same rights and whatnot as the males, or do they just stay in the kitchen?

-Vergil - Well, Lighter Than Some certainly hauled ass from that Jackal shipmistress, but to each their own, I suppose. What is your opinion of the humans that rescued you?

-Ferox - I see. I notice that some of your kind used an altered Plasma Rifle, which seems more of a Sangheili-exclusive weapon. Was this out of admiration for your split-jawed foes?

-Lucien - Interesting. Is your position common, or are you unique?

  • 01.18.2011 5:12 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

@Ed Nejo

Hard to say. In combat, less is always more (despite some of our elaborate headdresses), so I would say it would be more decorative, and therefore useless. Even Energy Swords themselves were meant to be only ceremonial, until we encountered the humans.

-Re'gish

I would not know that. They don't tell us anything! And if they have, they sure haven't shared it with us!

-Fapnap

I feel each hunter pair would have their own feeling, but overall the consensus would probably be mutual. Had the humans arrived in peace, and shared their technology with us in a kind manner, the treatment may have been reciprocal. And the same had they treated us differently.

-Os

Yes. She lays eggs and dies.

-Hopalong

I would, and so would most Kig-Yar, but some have been known to truce with humans on destroyed worlds, so I can't speak for all of us.

-Jak

Biologically we are closely related, but we are the same. Almost like an Earth German Shepherd and Poodle, with us being the Shepherd. And yes, we were also like pirates. But we were much more vicious.

-Ren

The females tend to stay home and do what the Chieftan says (But that is not to say they simply cook and clean in the least). If a new Chieftan defeats the present one in duel, he takes over and decides their fate: Banished, left to become his, or killed. This is also the same with the previous Chieftan.

-Servus

Lighter than Some was a Braveheart. Most of us wouldn't dare do what he had done. As for the humans that saved me, I trusted them quite a bit. I had been watching them roam the human city for hours, and felt like they meant well and their intentions were good. But it was still scary to be fleeing with them. So brutal in combat, much more clever and tough than our leaders ever let on.

-Vergil

Absolutely not. That is an insult. In an attempt to get us to adapt to Covenant life, the San 'Shyuum wanted us to use their weaponry. We refused, but they demanded. In exchange, we were still allowed to use our home world weapons such as the Spiker, as long as we began "weaning" their weapons into our culture.

-Ferox

My position is extremely rare, but certainly not unique.

-Lucien

  • 01.18.2011 6:35 PM PDT

Well, I'm having fun. :p

-Re'gish Wamik - What is your opinion of these interviews?

-Fapnap - Would the Unggoy have been better off without the Covenent?

-Ogada Nosu Fasu - What is your view on Covenent religion? Do you believe?

-Hopalong - That's a tad depressing, don't you think?

-Jak - Do you think Humanity would have won sooner if they had the Kig-Yar as allies?

-Ren - Or a chihuahua with a rottweiler. Um... can Jackals and Skirmishers mate?

-Servus - Have you ever tried human food? Like, pizza or steak?

-Vergil - Yeah, humans have some decency, too. What exactly do Engineers eat?

-Ferox - Forgive me for offending you. Did the Jiralhanae drop the Plasma Rifle during Halo 3 because they had more say in what they did after replacing the Elites?

-Lucien - Regret was the youngest Heirarch, yet he still looked like something you'd see in an old folks' home. Is this normal for San'Shyuum?

  • 01.18.2011 6:59 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

@Ed Nejo

I rather enjoy it. I don't mind answering humans' questions.

-Re'gish

No. We wouldn't be slaves, but we would still be worse off. The Covenant kept us safe!

-Fapnap

We know Forerunner existed, and we know something happened to them. Other than that, there's no proof. We were forced into Covenant theology. After the Schism, the Lekgolo were divided. Some left the old Covenant, and some remained Loyalists, all depending on what they believed. Those that left thought they were better off leaving things be, and Loyalists had become believers in the theology. Though we as a race were never totally united in it.

-Os

No. She get lots of food. Whole hive shares small meals.

-Hopalong

What humans never realized was, we Kig-Yar were really pirates. Had they offered us more than the Covenant, some of us may have joined them. However, I don't think it would have been enough. Were it not for the Schism and the Sangheili alliance with the humans, I do not believe humanity would exist today.

-Jak

Kig-Yar and Skirmisher have been known to mate. On rare occasions some will have secks with each other, but no young can be produced.

-Ren

No. And I don't plan to. However, I may try cow meat like you mentioned if it was brought to me. But human food is just too small for me.

-Servus

We Huragok do not eat anything. Interestingly enough, we are not biological beings at all. We were artificially constructed by the Forerunner, and then we began reproducing. So basically, we were made. We do not have to eat anything because we are biomechanical. However, we still think and act as if we were truly alive.

-Vergil

Precisely that. You may have noticed that after the Schism, Spikers were around a lot more as well.

-Ferox

It is very common. While Regret was "young" compared to other Hierarchy, he was still old. Not only that, the San 'Shyuum are from a planet with low gravity. Moving to higher gravity environments puts a strain on them, which is why mostly the sit on their floating thrones. It makes them weak. In addition, I suppose you could imagine that a life of very little physical activity in a chiar would also render San 'Shyuum frail and weak. Yes, all San 'Shyuum were withered.

-Lucien

  • 01.18.2011 7:50 PM PDT

-Re'gish Wamik - Glad to know you're not thinking of slaughtering us all. XP

-Fapnap - Perhaps. On the other hand, you wouldn't have Brutes eating Grunt meat to treat constipation. By the way, would you rather use a Plasma Rifle or a Needler?

-Ogada Nosu Fasu - And the Flood? What do you think of them?

-Hopalong - Kinda what I meant. Small meals can't be too fun. How many queens did the Covenent have?

-Jak - Thank God for the Elites. And the Seperatists. What would the Kig-Yar have wanted in exchange for an allience with the humans?

-Ren - So they can mate, but they'll never produce any little waterheaded retard Jackals?

-Servus - Oh, welcome to my world. How many full-grown bulls could the average Jiralhanae eat?

-Vergil - Like a human AI?

-Ferox - Yes, and they hurt. A Brute castrated my partner with a Spiker round. Which weapon do you prefer?

-Lucien - I see. The humans were considered heretics and animals, but what conclusion would you have come to? I'd think humans, as descendants of the Forerunners, would be worshipped rather than hunted.

  • 01.18.2011 8:00 PM PDT

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

@Ed Nejo

Of course not. After the Schism, I feel bad for humans. They were slaughtered for years with no reason behind it.

-Re'gish

Well thats better than being ripped apart alive by Guta on our homeworld Bahalo!
And I like the Needler, it goes boom!

-Fapnap

The Flood is a savage creature only intent on the slaughter of all other life. They must be destroyed, but not at the cost of all other life.

-Os

Usually one per spaceship. Thousands upon thousands. That's not counting High Charity. It had hundreds alone.

-Hopalong

Pretty much anything that you could bribe a human with. Gold, spaceships, weapons, land, political influence to name a few. Except for females. We Kig-Yar don't see why human males find them so voluptuous.

-Jak

Haha, yes. But retarded devil spawns.

-Ren

If we were hungry, perhaps an entire bull. Maybe a calf for dessert. Us Jirilanhae are 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall, so eating two bull would be a stretch.

-Servus

Almost, but a bit more advanced. And unlike human AI that usually project themselves as holograms, we actually have physical bodies.

-Vergil

I am sorry your brother endured that pain (Unlike my Jirilanhae brethren, I'm a bit more socially sophisticated). The Spiker is a deadly weapon. Most Jirilanhae weapons were meant to inflict great pain and slow death. In combat, I preferred the Mauler. Sadistic as it may be, blowing open Flood parasites was rather enjoyable.

-Ferox

After discovering humans at Harvest, the Prophets of Truth, Mercy and Regret discovered that humans were descendants of Forerunner. Knowing this proved their religion false, they decided to keep it a secret to prevent from tearing the Covenant apart.

As for us Huragok, we knew the truth of the humans. Had the decision been mine, I would have given them a chance to at least join our ranks of the Covenant. Even the Sangheili were impressed by the humans' combat skills. They would have done the same as well. Unfortunately, Truth had the final word.

-Lucien

  • 01.18.2011 8:33 PM PDT

-Re'gish Wamik - I think of the Human-Covenant war, and the Holocaust comes to mind. I don't suppose you know what the Holocaust was? In case you do, then you may see a huge resemblance: a race condemned to death, but still manage to survive. How do you see it?

-Fapnap - I like the Needler, too. It'd be the only weapon I ever use if it wasn't pink. Still don't really understand the Covenent's obsession with pink, but whatever. Do you think the Unggoy would have been better off with the humans? I'm sure we could've found better battle armor for your kind, and there's a few moons and planets that you could inhabit.

-Ogada Nosu Fasu - Agreed. Kinda easy to kill, though. Just punch 'em in the face and they'll go down. But yes, I don't support the loss of life, human or otherwise. But if it's absolutely unavoidable, then I would say sacrificing the few for the many would be the best option. How many Flood do you think a Hunter pair could take before they go down?

-Hopalong - Wow. Do you think they would've been capable soldiers in the War?

-Jak - Human males have a great interest in female breasts. And we're a rather... horny race, seeing as we would sometimes hire two... well, let's not get into that right now. And we probably could've made some arrangements, had a representative been sent. Would you, personally, work as partners with us?

-Ren - Oh, praise the Lord. Hm... what weapons do you think your kind prefer?

-Servus - I confess to being somewhat suprised. I had assumed an adult Brute could down two or three, easy. Well, I think it was height and muscle that gave me that impression, I dunno. Okay, moving on, if you please... what is your opinion of the armor used by the Demons? Would you wear it if it was specially modified for Jiralhanae?

-Vergil - Of course you're more advanced, the Forerunners made Einstein look like a retard who could barely walk and breathe at the same time. What are your hobbies, aside from fixing things?

-Ferox - No need to apologize, he ate the last of the MREs and starved half the soldiers we were with. And yes, popping the little Flood things was always fun. If was the risk of infection that made it better. Is there any Human weapon and/or vehicle that you personally admire?

-Lucien - And it was because of Truth that countless billions of lives, mostly human, were lost.

Ooh! Ooh! I can answer this one!
The answer is no, because the worms that compose the Hunters are too small to be infected.
