The argument about whether or not there should be movies for the Halo series has been argued upon for ages. When the majority agreed that there should, people started asking "CG or Live Action?" But anyway, most people didn't think of it too much, because they doubted Microsoft would be willing to make such an investment. It simply wasn't likely. But... wait a minute... what if we could make a Halo/Halo 2 movie! Who needs Microsoft?!Ok, so you're all gonna say "Oh comon, we already got RvB!" That's true, but those really aren't movies, they're episodes, and they don't tell the real stroy of Halo, they are just parody. What if somehow we could make a movie (probably using Halo/Halo 2 as I don't see any of us having enough money to do Live Action)? Maybe it would be around an hour and a half (or more if we want to try to include some of Halo 2 in it). What we would do, is capture gameplay footage, and find a way to summerize the game so you get a little footage from each level, and the important cinematics. If we add voiceovers to the gameplay footage, we could actually sum up other cinematics right there. And if we want to portray some Halo 2 stuff... let's say we want to do something on the Ascendant Justice, we could have someone kill most enemies in one section of the Truth and Reconcilation, and use that, because it is another Covenant ship! Or if we need to be in a destroyed city... Well what's Halo CE for? Do you get my drift? Now, I'm not kidding around here. Of course, you can branch a million different ways:
1. What view would the camera be from? Third person using mods, or third person using the RvB method? Or what about first person?
2. Who should be director? Producer? Who's gonna host it? Who will capture the footage? Who will provide voiceovers? How long will it take? How long would the actual movie be?
3. Should we use the Xbox or PC?
Now, please note that these are all just possibilities I'm listing here... but the point is, it would be something noone has tried before; up to now people have only made trailers... etc. And, more importantly, it might satisfy the needs some people have for a Halo/Halo 2 movie. So if anyone has any suggestions or comments please post here. Don't flame, but you are welcome to say that this is simply undoable.

I think you have a good idea there But that would take like a year to do

Time is not a problem. In fact, that would be good, since we could get footage from Halo 2, and we would know the whole story. And, anyway, a real movie would take longer. I think it would only take a couple of months though.

LIVE ACTION , with Vin Diesel as Master Chief and Brittany Murphy as Cortana. we can have Samuel Jackson as the Sarge.

Bad idea, but I would see it no matter what

And I think they should, if Nintendo can make a Mario move, then M$ can make a Halo movie!

It's been done.

You know, now that I think about it, maybe it's also possible to do movies for TFoR and FS. But for that, multiplayer would have to be used very often; the best CE artists would have to be found, and they'd throughly read descriptions of areas from the books, and recreate them.

Hmm. Haven't seen that before. But from what I've read about it so far, only 50 copies were made. Instead of making it into a DVD, why not keep it on the net?

Shishka: where did they get that new game footage at?
